Hey again!
I've been wanting to build an entire appartment complex for a long time now, but haven't been able in TS1. So check this complex out, it's a replica of the complex I live in in Copenhagen, Denmark (apart from the pool, ofcourse )

More pics to come if you want to see?? So far there is 41 appartments, including 4 penthouses!

I'm going to put it at thesims2.ea.com later on.

Hope you like it - It has taken forever to build!

O my god, that's amazing.

Question though, if you build that, how do people live there.

Fair enough there's 41 apartments, but you can only have 8 sims per lot, so how do you split them up into individual living quarters???

Hi - and thanks :)

You've got a point, though. You can't really use it for anything - except it looks really cool on your map i you place 4 og 5 next to each other - a very urban city-look, instead for suburb look that sims2 has normally. I just build it for fun - and you can always play with 8 sims in the appartments on the 1st floor, and maybe build doors between the appartments so they can socialize.

Glad that you like it - i'll post more pics here.

It's a wonderful complex. Amazing. How long does it takes you to build that? I really like SIMS2 building tools and its versatility.

Kinda curious why maxis gives us max of 8 sims per lot while the 5x5 lot is sooooo big, maybe they will release expack with ability to house multiple families on single lot, one families per condo/apartment, would be cool if we can do that.

That's amazing.

Will you post it to TS2 exchange? or here on TSR?

I wonder if you have a high end system as well, that big old building would slow my game down to molasses I think. *smile*

Awesome job.

Thanks - I'm really glad that you all like it.
And yeah, it felt like forever when I had to put in all 300 windows... I've probably spent 8 hours building it, but I didn't have to think much about is, as I could just go outside my door and take a look :)

I'm going to put it at sims-exchange, but I want to complete it before i do. I've only decorated 9 of the 41 appartments, so I have a serious amount of work ahead. I think I'll try to make my own appartment, 4th floor, on the right side from the main entrance.

inspire75, you are so right - why give us the ability to build so much housing, but no people to live in it. Hopefully an expandpack will solve this.

JadeEliott - I've bought a state-of-the-art brand new computer JUST to be able to play TS2 (geek - I know :) ) but even though it has the heaviest videocard available and everything elso, it STILL feels slow when I handle the appartment complex. Thats actually one thing I'm pretty annoyed by - the fact that I haven't seen the game run totally smooth with the best grafics-settings (that should be possible).

Again, thanks for the kind words - It's so lovely to hear when someone else likes your "work". I must reveal at this point, that study architecture, so I have a pretty big interest in building houses in general. I basically don't play the game - just build!

Sorry about the English in general - I'm Danish :)

Ah your Danish, very cool. My dad is Danish. Anywho... I really like the apartment complex (I would love to live there in real life). You have put alot of hard work into it and I eagerly look foreward to when you will publish it to the exchange. It seems if you plan to decorate all the apartments you have quite alot of work ahead of you.
I just wanted to comment and say that it looks beautiful so far, and to keep working it at. lol

That building so great, must download it when it comes out.
how much will it cost? unfortunately sims need to buy the whole house to live in one apartment. And I also hope that it will be possible in the future to have an playeble apartment block.

It seems that the Exchange regularly dumps files after some time, and all picture links on-site here that were posted before May were lost in a server crash. Also, bear in mind that the OPs of threads this old are often no longer active here to answer questions about their lot.
