For an illustrated guide to the spells and charms, see our TSR Makin Magic Strategy Guide


Here's what I've gotten so far, off the top of my head, from playing my copy (came in mail yesterday afternoon), watching a friend who's had a copy for a while, and reading various spoilers...

-Most dragon stuff (scales, nest (egg), etc) - Vickie Vampiress. Your pet dragon will also sometimes leave dragon tears and dragon scales around. Mine left tears once after I groomed him. Go figure.

-Pixie Dust - Mara the fairy girl.

-Sands of Time - Mara

-Golden thread - I think Mara, and you can spin it yourself.

-Magic beans - Apothecary guy

-Llama spit - Apothecary guy

-Toadstools - Apothecary guy; supposedly from sitting on toadstool chairs?

-Toad sweat - apothecary guy

-Rubber chicken - give Elderberry Nectar to Apothecary guy ("barter")

-Four leaf clover - give honey to Mara the fairy ("barter")

-Snake venom - barter with Snake Charmer. Can't recall what he wants.

-Garlic - barter with Vicki Vampiress

-Clown confetti, wizard eyelashes, Pegasus Feather, Glacial Glass - these are obtained via minigames when you "Talk To" the Magic Town NPCs above.

-Black roses - Obsessed fan leaves them on your lot.

-Diamond dust - ?? Would love to know.

FOOD-BASED COMPONENTS

These can mostly be bought with regular simoleons in magic town. They are displayed in shelves, not from the cart vendors above.

-Butter (or you can churn yourself)

-Sugar

-Honey (or you can keep bees)

-Beeswax (ditto)

-Grapes, Elderberries, Grape Sprig, Elderberry sprig - the "sprigs" you can plant at home, just be sure to use the right type of plot. Then you can grow your own grapes and elderberries.

-Baking mix

Hmm, that's all I can think of right now, feel free to add.

Diamond dust is from Mara, one of her wares (sands of time, diamond dust, pixie dust and golden thread)

diamond dust probably didn't appear for you cos you don't have enough magicoins, you need 199

Ah ha! Thanks, I was wondering how I could have missed it. The only time I had that many magicoins, I immediately bought a house. :)

Heheh, I read that in my strategy guide, and I was figuring it was probably the fairy and such, but I didn't want to post it just incase I was wrong.

I have tried the circus lots, but maybe I missed someone...

I love the dueling stage. I have worked out the pattern and it looks so cool. the most magicoins I have from a single dduel was 36, so it looks like performing is what'll bring home the booty.
Still can't get my sims to cast spells though:mad:

Yeah, I didn't order from the ea store, I ordered through some gamer site my boyfriend uses.

I got the banana of doom doing a quest for Mara, but she asked for it and traded me something else for it. I guess you could just keep the banana.

Who do you talk to to get the clown confetti? I'm trying to get them all, and that's one of the few I am missing

You'll get clown confetti, a pegesus feather, glacial glass or a wizard eyelash if you talk to either to Mara the Fairy, Vicki Vampiress or the apothecary guy.

I got my Clown confetti from the apothacy fellow. He gave it to me for some silly (easy) quest he sent me on.

Fairy dust comes when a kid is playing with a lila toybox, this toybox can be found in the 'buy'menu :)
