Then there is the Green family. My Betty Newbie was miserable living with Bob and couldn't get along with him from my first day playing the game. She fell in love with and married Ray Green, and they have 3 kids. They live in the original home of Mortimer & Bella, who moved to a bigger house. I kept renovating and adding to the old Goth house as the Green family grew. A swimming pool replaced the cemetery, and the exterior is now yellow. It is a very homey Victorian house, and everything is very family-oriented. I don't know why, but there is just such a nice warm family atmosphere there that it makes you feel good to play that lot.
I have also had a lot of fun with the McGuirks, an old hillbilly and his daughter who live in a shack with no plumbing or electricity. It has been a real challenge furnishing their house and finding ways to meet their needs without using modern conveniences.
I also get a kick out of the Boggs brothers, a couple of tough-looking bikers. They live in a run-down old house and make a fine living in the criminal career track. Although they make a lot of money, they seem to spend it all on entertainment, electronics, and motorcycles, so the house never gets fixed up.
I could probably go on for hours like this. The truth is, I like all my Sims! :D

Gosh. Well, OK. Mostly (98% of my time spent playing) I play my own sims who I created. I have two neighborhoods, one an original-themed neighborhood (my Akaren sims), and another neighborhood of contemporary human sims. I also have a secondary game going on my laptop (Powerbook G3/400 Lombard), with one not quite totally full neighborhood of Akaren sims.
With the exception of two families in my human neigborhood (who I enjoy playing as much as I do the Akaren sims), I have to say I favor my Akaren sims, especially T'Askeyra...ironic that I should choose her, because I created her much later on than the other Akaren sims (in fact, to date there's been only one that I created after her). I like playing T'Askeyra best because she's such an exercise in diversity. She is a chemist by profession ("Mad Scientist" game career track and also has a chemistry set), but she also farms/sells crops, bakes, and has herself a lively business in making homemade preserved stew (that's what it's supposed to be since she's a character from my novel series, but in the game I use a custom medieval fruitmince object which was based on the MM apple canning station). She plays the ka'athyra (mtaman's lute, and, she has a lover, Kerith (who I also enjoy playing...gosh, he's hot! ).
In my human neighborhood, my hands down favorite family is my Stiles family, which is Clark, Lena and their five pet rats, Typhus, Chlorine, Fluorine, Darmok and Jalad. While both Clark and Lena have game jobs (Information Overlord and Mad Scientist, respectively), they always work from home (Hedda's computer). This is because they, too, are very very busy sims with numerous interests, most of them also remunerative. Clark is a mechanical designer (special easel for this) and builder (he makes gnomes and renovates windows); Lena is a mathematician and writer. Clark has a fully equipped garage/workshop and numerous vehicles on the property; Lena has a fully equipped microbiology/chemistry lab, and she plays the piano too. Plus, they also have a farm: they grow their own food and have more than enough to sell at Custer's in Old Town. Clark and Lena also enjoy "the great outdoors" -- they sometimes camp in their yard, or at Vacation Island. A close second favorite to this family is my sim Lisa Jenny. She has seven pet rats who she shows -- I had to build an extra room for her house so she'd have room for all the trophies!
OK, so those are my very favorite sims, of the ones I created myself, anyway. Maxis sims?
From the time I first got the game about a year ago, once I finished playing the Newbie tutorial to learn how (plus the Goth house briefly, from curiosity), I didn't play Maxis sims at all until fairly recently because I just got too obsessed with my own ideas for sims...but in January of this year I finally "adopted" two Maxis families and moved them into my human neighborhood. In chronological order, the Charming family and the Hick family. I enjoy playing both of these families as much as any of my other human sims (after Clark & Lena, and Lisa, I mean), but of the two, hands down I like the Hick family. I transformed them from being simple hicks to full blown hardcore rednecks. They make moonshine, cure and smoke tobacco, shoot their rifles late at night, and when Elden's garden was doing well, decided to make him a farmer (Mama still works in the culinary track). Of course, he needed help to work a bigger farm, so I decided to have his "kissin' cousin" Jasmynn Mae move in with them. And yes, she's a redneck too, and she does a lot more than just kiss and help Elden with the farm work. ;) Elden really, really likes her. Hehehee...

The neighborhood I play contains my favorite tv, movie, videogame characters. Recently I redid that neighborhood so I could start all over again. I'll give a quick rundown on what is happening so far...
X Files
Dana Scully works in the Medical profession, and has just met Fox Mulder who has a career in the Paranormal track. They have just started dating, and I'm hoping to get Mulder abducted by aliens soon.
Battlestar Galactica
Kara Thrace is in the military and has been fooling around with Lee Adama, also in the military. However she recently met Sam Anders, a professional athlete and has very quickly fallen in love with him. Marriage for them should be just around the corner. Unlike the show though, she will not be having an affair with Lee once she marries Sam.
La Femme Nikita
Although they never married in the show, I did have Michael and Nikita get married. They are both in the Criminal career track. They even live in a recreation of Nikita's apartment, based on the set design from the show.
Tomb Raider
Lady Lara Croft lives in a reproduction of Croft Manor from the videogame series, even though she has the looks of the movie Lara played by Angelina Jolie. She is in the Extreme career track. The version of the house she lives in is based on the early games (Tomb Raider 1-3), but I am toying with the idea of building her the manor from the most recent game, Tomb Raider:Legend.
Charmed
I have Prue, Piper, and Phoebe living in a version of the manor based on the set design. Prue is in the Business profession, Piper is in the Culinary career track, and Phoebe is in Journalism. In a separate house, I have Paige Matthews, who is in the Slacker career. I also have Leo Wyatt and Cole Turner in their own homes for the time being. Eventually they will all meet, and Leo and Piper will get together and Cole and Phoebe will get together.
Witchblade
Sara Pezzini is in Law Enforcement. She has just come into contact with the Witchblade, and is learning how to use it. Technically she is using the rapier from Cheap Frills, but it works for me. She is currently interested in two men -- fellow cop Jake McCartey and the mysterious Ian Nottingham.
Alias
Sydney Bristow is in the Education profession(in the show she was studying to be a teacher while doing her spy thing). She lives in a reproduction of her beach house. Michael Vaughn is in the Law Enforcement field. He just met Syd. They are currently dating.
Future additions to the neighborhood include...
Rhett Butler and Scarlett O'Hara from Gone With the Wind (just need to build them a house)
Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda from Sex & the City
Barbie and Ken
Mutant X (just need to build them a house too)
Sam's Sims Yahoo Group -- Added March 26, 2009 -- Unleashed Community Lot 61 Farmers Market

Because my The Sims incarnation lives in the biggest house of the neighborhood with five dashing, scantily clad ladies.

they have been living for about 50 days in a replica of my house (for me that is already long). Miranda had all her skills filled, while Azura had all her skills filled, too:D
then i ordered them to go to old town. but while it was loading, my cousin accidentally pushed her lower leg to the shut down button. after i restarted the comp, there was ahouse there, but when i clicked it, nothing appears. then i went to Claire Charming's house, and Miranda's face was there...:(
then i ordered Miranda to move in to her house, then they went! and that's the end. i just have them in charming house
as i always noted: after some weeks, our computer had problems and all our games were uninstalled, including    The Sims...

Katie Fulke is my all-time favorite Sim. She's only slightly based on me/Weatherfac. I vaguely remember that she had a sister a long time ago. I'm not sure what happened to the sister.
Jonathan Smith was originally going to be more of a background character to help fill out Katie's back story (hence the unoriginal last name), but then I got attached to him, and now he's one of my favorite three.
There's also David Carlan, who is based off a movie character.
There's also Fetch, Jonathan's pet Skeleton Dog, but I don't have a decent picture of him right now. You can be sure the paper girl runs extra fast when she sees him coming. ;)

(Please note that these are not in any order)
Star Family
Violet moved in to simville just as common as every other townie, but she worked her way up in Studio town, and now she's a super-star with 5 stars. Now she's training her cats, and they have many awards, as does she.
Working Family
I have four people that all got jobs and lived in a one room house (except on bathroom and to save money on walls, haha) and bought the absoulute cheapest items. As they got promoted, I would expand their house a little, and get them slightly better stuff. Now, they all reached the top, and they moved in a bigger and better bouse.
But my absoulute favorite family would have to be a tie between the Smiths and the Normandys
Smiths
This is a family I had maped out two years before I even thought about for the sims. I have every house drawn and the whole family tree mapped out for four generations, and it's large, the last generation has to have 100 individuals!! I'm just making the first two gen.
Normandy Family
anyone that knows much about english history, this is concidered the first house of rulers. the first-first house is the house of wessex. I decided to start with william I or william the conqueror. I'm going to make all of the rulers, try to fallow the family trees exactly, and trace it to the present day. I just started today, so im really happy, since i've been preparing for a month. YAY!!

Of the families I've created well as somebody said earlier I favor them all for different reasons.
One does come to mind readily though - it's a family I created based on soap characters who were never involved on the soap they were both on, but who I always wished had been. It's a sweet little fantasy to play that out. They did it all up right: courted, got engaged/married, had four kids and then I quit playing them while their youngest was still a baby because I don't want to face having no more babies for them, lol. :D I don't even like babies in the game much but for this family I've really enjoyed it. They have all maintained 95-100 relationship points with one another - that was a lot of time on my part invested in making them interact constantly. That was all before I upgraded from just TS1 and Livin' Large to Complete Collection, though, too.
I've been thinking of them again and would love to send the family on a snow vacation (the snowman building interaction would absolutely touch me) however I don't want their 4th child to turn into a kid yet. Can babies go on vacations? I suspect not. It can wait until I'm ready to let her be a full fledged kid. :D

Yeah, you have to wait until the baby is a "real" child before you can send the family off on a vacation. But that doesn't take too long, really! Only three simdays from the time it's "born."
