They started fighting.
[PA1_51] I just looked at them. This was nothing new to me. I was used to seeing people fighting all the time. I didn't care much about Neville, but I wasn't sorry to see him punching Kurt. Kurt had hurt me more than any simple punch in the face would. Still it surprised me that Kurt could fight Neville back!
Soon I was getting bored. So I went over, and shouted, 'Hey, are we going to the beach or not?'
Neville stopped hitting Kurt, and turned around. Kurt acted quickly. He came over to me, and pleaded,
'Please just this one time. Let's go somewhere and talk. Then you can go to the beach with him as much as you want to. But give me this one chance.' I looked at Kurt, and supressed the urge to slap him. Instead I decided to give him a taste of his own medicine. I went over to Neville, and started kissing him in front of Kurt.
[PA1_52] When I finally pulled away, I saw Kurt walking in his apartment. '
Yeh, Kurt,' I shouted. 'Neville is right. Get over it. You're not getting me back.'
After Kurt had walked into his apartment, I walked into mine, and changed my clothes, and pulled back my hair. I was in a really excited state, because everything felt just like the old days – from the clothes I was wearing, to the way I was doing my hair. I vowed that from now on, there will no longer be any Miss Perfect, but only Rykie Roberts, the way that I truly was.
Neville was waiting for me, and when I got out he drove us to the beach. At first he looked at me, not sure whether I had been lying or not about who I was, and then as if to confirm it, he asked me,
'Would you like to do something silly, but fun at the same time?'
'Sure,' I replied. He hired a small motor-controlled boat, and we played with it in the pond. It was not something that I would have done while I was playing Miss Perfect, but not that was behind me, and I was being me again, and enjoying every moment of it.

Afterwards we went in the sea for a swim, and I really enjoyed being a silly girl with Neville. At around 2pm we were really hungry, and so Neville went into a nearby store and bought some food, and a blanket, and he spread it on the ground, and lay on it.
[PA1_54] I lay down beside him, and as we were eating he asked me,
'Are you really enjoying yourself here with me today?'
'Yes, Neville, I am. Believe, this is just like when I was back in Pennsburgh.' He looked at me, and wanted to know more. But that was all I could say for the time being.
After we ate, we stayed there on the blanket, and Neville fell asleep. I closed my eyes, and suddenly everything fell into place. I was listening to the happy voices of the people, the sound of the waves, smelling the scents of the beach, and feeling the hot sun burning on my skin. Soon all these sounds faded into background, as I started dozing off. The last thing I remember thinking before I fell asleep was This is the way life should be always.
When we woke up, the sun was already going down, and so Neville packed everything in his car, and proposed a walk on the beach. The beach was almost deserted now, and it was quiet. The only sounds were the sounds of the waves, and the distant sound of music coming from a nearby pub. We were walking on the shore, when suddenly Neville turned to me, and said.
'Rykie, I really enjoyed myself with you today. I want to see you again. I've got to. All my life I have been longing for someone special like you are, and now it suddenly seems too good to be true that I found you.'I hugged him, and replied,
'I too want to see you again, Neville.' He hugged me back, and squeezed me against him, as if he was afraid to let me go.
