In the past few months, we have seen a rise in the number of folks reporting problems with the game working properly when using Sims 8 in 1 as their version of Sims1. Just to let everyone know, Sims 8 in 1 is an illegal version of the game that has been circulating since 2003, not long after Makin Magic was released. At that time, some idiot decided to burn his game information to a CD and distribute it under the name 8 in 1, claiming it was the comprehensive all-expansion set. It isn't. The official comprehensive, all expansions set is called Complete Collection, and that was released by EA/Maxis in November 2005.

Illegal games do not work properly. Period. End of story. They do not have all of the necessary files that you can only get from installing the legal disks to your computer. Plus many user-made programs meant to enhance your game will not work with illegal copies either. If you are having problems with your game, or any add ons, working properly, and you have an illegal version, then you are out of luck. If you want the game to work properly, then you need to have a legal copy of the game.

8. Warez, Piracy and Cracks

This site and forums do not support warez, or illegal copies, or no-cd cracks. No one on these forums should give anyone a serial number. Threads with questions about illegal software can expect to be closed or moved, and subject to user probation.

So, if you have Sims 8 in 1, you need to exit our forums now. Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200. You will not get help here. We only give help to those with legal versions of The Sims. The same goes for anyone who has downloaded Sims1 from various file share sites. Sims1 is not freeware, so downloading it is illegal. You will not get help for downloaded games here.
