I would love to see more sinks for the kitchen also. The theme or main focus in my showroom is "Let the fixtures be the jewels of your home." Plain is boring!
I do tend to use neutral colors on the walls though. I am working on a dormitory for Sim State U that is going to have bold vibrant colors. I hope to show you all when completed.
I also tend to go overboard when decorating the outside. My flower gardens are quite extensive!

When making your BEDROOM, it is important to not simply place a bed, a chair and table, maybe a desk, and a wardrobe. Depending on what style your going for, mix it up a bit! Dont go for just white everything. Maybe try while matress and sheets and wooden supports for the bed, a wooden table (of the closest color you can get to the supports of the bed itself) and a computer. For the flooring and wallpaper, dont use raw wood and boring white paint. maybe try light gren or blue! use a carpet! or atleast put wood AND carpet somewhere. Just make it interesting and unique.

I like to use decorating to enhance on my sims personalities. each of my houses are done so differently.
I have one couple's master bedroom done completely in white with contempory furnishing. I recently did a different bedroom for a young couple that just moved in together. the walls are a rich spice color and the furniture is all yellow with an ecleptic feel. and used the bright colored striped bed covering. giving them a young funky vibe.
I did one of my single romance sims house to give him a surfer vibe. but also kept it low key like everything came from a thrift shop. and every poster with girls on it are spread through out his place. but a different romance guy has more mondren decore. rich red colored walls and black furniture. all the art is conversational pieces.
I love it.
hope more people get this thread active agian. :D

I love decorating bathrooms..they are my favourites. I use platforms, lots of mirrored walls and floors....and lots of cc, and bright colours..stone and wood works well together in the bathrooms as well as breezy curtains

Actually the I believe hard part is to use furniture, decor and colour of a kind that you:) would hate to live in in real life.
So, being true to my scandinavian traditions I´m much into white or at least bright colours, nature materials and furniture classics. We had so many fantastic furniture designers in Scandinavia in the last century so my homes are usually classic scandinavian, which goes very well with some retro. White walls, simple lines and light, light, light.

Metteaske, sometimes I find myself drawn to wanting to use some of my faves too. you can always try starting small by adding one or two pieces that are slightly different if you want to branch out. but if your happy with how you have it, that's fine. plus now, if I ever need help doing a scandinavian design, I know who to ask. :)

When you create your gardens dont hesticate to add bushes and flowers.Grass adds some realistic touch (althought all of the realistic grass is CC so you must download it).Bacegame bamboo is good with ponds, also CC swans echance lakes and ponds.
What else..oh,and add paths not by outdoor titles, but by terrain paint. Here are some examples (were taken in lot by me,soon to be uploaded)
