Honestly, alot of things in The Sims 3 store looked like they belonged in the base game.

I miss being able to let children move and let them move in to another lot and to switch between different famelies. ALOT! NOT to end the game and start a new one.

- the ability to move things up and down walls from AL
- hot tubs
- pianos and violins (I mean the classical side of the music career track REALLY NEED these)
- the Smustle
- the Education career. Why was this not included! I was so shocked when I couldn't get a job in that field.
- CC - namely hair and make up. These sims need an Extreme Makeover badly. And NAILS!!!!!!!!! OMG how can you go to the spa and have a manicure and have no NAILS?!?!?!?
The rest I can wait for.

(1) The ability to make those 'elevator stairs' (the CFE trick with modular stairs where Sims could be teleported up and down floor levels in a very tiny space - the new stair system won't entertain it.
(2) That wall-mounted light - the outdoor glass one that looks like it would serve well as a prison wall light or something. I know: an appalling description, but I can't think how else to describe it, other than that it's lozenge shaped. A light might sound like a petty thing but I have lamented its absence in every lot I have built so far. Please EA, if you're watching this now... *weep*
(3) Being able to place anything anywhere in a neighbourhood. I understand why that's gone, and that there are lots of other neat enhancements instead, but I DO miss this.
One thing I DON'T miss though is the Sims 2 stutters and lags! Sims 3 performs much better on my PC, even with my nVidia graphics settings ramping up the anti-alias and such!

(4) I miss the ghosts of Sims 2. The fact that you couldn't interact with them NORMALLY made them a slightly spooky and unpredictable entity in the game. Now, they're just semi-transparent Sims. I'm sad about that.

i really do think that EA will bring out at least pets, and seasons, im hoping you will be able to chose character traits for your pets, if not i will be outraged, pets have character just as much as people.
i think there should be an option for the open town, sure i like the fact that you can walk around without having to change lots. but its not fair tha we cant make our own town. or even make our own lots it feels so much like im playing by EAs rules. where the sims 2 it was like, ok heres your base game, now fill it with awesome stuff and create the rest of the game yourself
i think very soon i want to go out and buy all the other explansion/stuff packs i dont have and go back to the sims 2 for a while until they create new expansion packs or theres new CC :(
i also miss the hot tub :( and the diving board.
AND THE HALF WALLS. and the split level option you get with open for business
i do however like one thing, the 45 degree angle option for furniture that really makes me happy. (like the only thing)

Because my dear, they don't have our finest minds and better artists :) That's why.

It's personal taste, I like most of the textures and I have plenty of matching things so not sure why you're thinking there's nothing that matches?

It's also the same with floor-tiles and wallpapers. This time round, EA have given us more default choices, but beneath all that they've simply given us painting templates. There are template papers with and without borders, with and without coving and dado rails, and template floors with bevelled edges (make good paving slabs), floors with tile grooves, floors with and without borders... It doesn't matter what category they're in. My second and third pictures show how I use the default border and coving wallpapers for a purpose very different to their originals!
It's not always obvious to see what will work, and it can be time-consuming, but the ability to match things is something we do now have (thankfully)! :D

I hope when people start being able to create CC's there will be some better looking Sims out there. And Maybe someone can create a make up that'll fix that chin!

Babu, have you checked the advanced option on each of the facial features? Sims can have very thin faces and don't all look pudgy unless they've not had their faces altered from the default template.
