All the Sims 2 stuff. Come on guys, youre starting from stage one again. Sims 1 all over again, only with rediculously difficult ways to make new walls, floors, etc. Not everyone is computer savvy. some of us just want to play the game, and maybe adjust a few things. You're making it more and more difficult to do that. All the Sims 3 stuff is gaudy, ugly, or just plain unusable in a real atmosphere. I got the Sims 3 game right from EA. I am NOT impressed at all. I have bought the game, but will be sticking to the Sims 2. I just don't like the whole thing. Sorry. I feel like I spent 74 dollars for nothing. Sims 2 still rules. At least I can create a wall. Sheesh. :tug:   :(

Im missing the custom content. Like I said earlier, I think EA is purposely making it difficult for the modding community to make objects. This is the same community that made The Sims what it was :(

Honestly, alot of things in The Sims 3 store looked like they belonged in the base game.

I miss OFB, or the fact of being able to make money in different ways.

I miss being able to let children move and let them move in to another lot and to switch between different famelies. ALOT! NOT to end the game and start a new one.

- Seasons
- the ability to move things up and down walls from AL
- hot tubs
- pianos and violins (I mean the classical side of the music career track REALLY NEED these)
- the Smustle
- the Education career. Why was this not included! I was so shocked when I couldn't get a job in that field.
- CC - namely hair and make up. These sims need an Extreme Makeover badly. And NAILS!!!!!!!!! OMG how can you go to the spa and have a manicure and have no NAILS?!?!?!?

The rest I can wait for.

I don't think I can get the list on here it is so long.. I miss Sims2 so much. I still have it on my computer and go back and play it now and then as I need a game fix. Sims3 is just bad rigt now. I miss the piano, hot tub, poker table, lg house plants, kissing the children, vacations, farms, diving boards, thunder, seasons, pets, rejvenator.I know lots of cc will come along later, but things like 1/2 walls and putting in the lot size you want should have come in the start up game. This game was so played up I thought it was the second coming of well you know and I have been very disapointed. Each game has been thin when we start, but by the third one it shoud have been very good. I wish I could have made it an expansion pack to my Sims2. Then if I could have used my Sims1 vacation (I think it was the best) I would never have been at work lol.

So...why don't you just play TS2 for now and wait until there's decent CC for TS3? You said yourself TS2 is still on your machine...you don't have to switch up to TS3 if you don't want to, no one is forcing you. :D

That does not take care of the problems for game 3. And yes no one is forcing me to play we were just discussing the things we missed and would like to see soon for Sims3..

I miss three things:

(1) The ability to make those 'elevator stairs' (the CFE trick with modular stairs where Sims could be teleported up and down floor levels in a very tiny space - the new stair system won't entertain it.

(2) That wall-mounted light - the outdoor glass one that looks like it would serve well as a prison wall light or something. I know: an appalling description, but I can't think how else to describe it, other than that it's lozenge shaped. A light might sound like a petty thing but I have lamented its absence in every lot I have built so far. Please EA, if you're watching this now... *weep*

(3) Being able to place anything anywhere in a neighbourhood. I understand why that's gone, and that there are lots of other neat enhancements instead, but I DO miss this.

One thing I DON'T miss though is the Sims 2 stutters and lags! Sims 3 performs much better on my PC, even with my nVidia graphics settings ramping up the anti-alias and such!

Too late to edit, but I thought of one more thing...

(4) I miss the ghosts of Sims 2. The fact that you couldn't interact with them NORMALLY made them a slightly spooky and unpredictable entity in the game. Now, they're just semi-transparent Sims. I'm sad about that.

i actually surprisingly hate the sims 3 i keep playing it in hope that im just doing it wrong, but everyone seems to be complaining about the same thing :(

i really do think that EA will bring out at least pets, and seasons, im hoping you will be able to chose character traits for your pets, if not i will be outraged, pets have character just as much as people.

i think there should be an option for the open town, sure i like the fact that you can walk around without having to change lots. but its not fair tha we cant make our own town. or even make our own lots it feels so much like im playing by EAs rules. where the sims 2 it was like, ok heres your base game, now fill it with awesome stuff and create the rest of the game yourself

i think very soon i want to go out and buy all the other explansion/stuff packs i dont have and go back to the sims 2 for a while until they create new expansion packs or theres new CC :(

i also miss the hot tub :( and the diving board.

AND THE HALF WALLS. and the split level option you get with open for business

i do however like one thing, the 45 degree angle option for furniture that really makes me happy. (like the only thing)

I am not to impressed with the game either. Why can't EA artist produce a decent texture for anything? The skin and hair textures are dull. Again, nothing matches. I don't understand why they DON"T get it?

Because my dear, they don't have our finest minds and better artists :) That's why.

It's personal taste, I like most of the textures and I have plenty of matching things so not sure why you're thinking there's nothing that matches?

I think EA have made a better job of matching sets 'out ot the box' this time than in Sims 2 (not-fond memories of trying to match the default green bathroom items spring to mind). Mesh styles are somewhat scant (I can't for the life of me make convincing industrial lights out of the shapes we've been given) and windows are suffering the same fate, so I look forward to meshing. But as far as textures go, anything and everything can be matched (except stairs, fences and chimneys - grrr). If laying a carpet, don't just look in carpet and fabric categories - think also about masonry, stone, metal and paint! The first picture shows masonry, fabric, wood, metal and paint to complete the look, although only metal and masonry are readily apparent. Before now, I've used cow-hide to create a stained area, leather to create a dirty wall - and some wood and wicker textures have come in for all sorts of abuse!

It's also the same with floor-tiles and wallpapers. This time round, EA have given us more default choices, but beneath all that they've simply given us painting templates. There are template papers with and without borders, with and without coving and dado rails, and template floors with bevelled edges (make good paving slabs), floors with tile grooves, floors with and without borders... It doesn't matter what category they're in. My second and third pictures show how I use the default border and coving wallpapers for a purpose very different to their originals!

It's not always obvious to see what will work, and it can be time-consuming, but the ability to match things is something we do now have (thankfully)! :D

What I miss the most was all the custom content and sim characters. You could download any moviestar and they would look exactly like the real one. I was even able to create myself and my children and it gave me the chills at how much they looked exactly like us. I feel this is missing. No one looks like the real person/moviestar! Bummer. Maybe this will improve as more content is added and people get better with practice but it makes me want to go back to sims 2 for a while until the custom content downloads improve. Anyone else have an opinion? Sorry, but Edward Cullin just doesn't look like Edward Cullin like he does in sims 2.
That's my biggest disappointment /frustration with this game. The sims are just so odd looking. And everyone looks pudgy..well especially the women. Not the bodies but the faces. Makes them all look like they're related..I like the fact that you have more control over the body. But those faces just bug me. And you're right you used to be able to make look a likes much better before. Even if I do manage to get a likeness of somebody, once it goes into the game it looks completely different. It doesn't have that even lighting you have in the creat a Sim ,so with all of the shadows and all it looks so different. I wish they gave us the same lighting in the create a Sims that they have in the actual game. That would help.
I hope when people start being able to create CC's there will be some better looking Sims out there. And Maybe someone can create a make up that'll fix that chin!

Babu, have you checked the advanced option on each of the facial features? Sims can have very thin faces and don't all look pudgy unless they've not had their faces altered from the default template.
