The sims 3 submission area is here. You'll find a link to it at the very top of all the pages on the main site. :)

If you are uploading to the EA Sims3 exchange, you do that through the launcher. Click on the Uploads tab. Select the item you want to upload. Then click the Upload button.

If you are submitting to TSR, which Saoz gave you the link for, then you need to click on the Browse tab. Set the path to your Exports folder -- My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims3/Exports. That is where the Sims3 pack file for that Sim is located. Or if you have copied and pasted the Sims3 packs to a new location, set the path to that location instead. Hit Upload file, then accept the Terms and Conditions when that box pops up. From there, you can edit descriptions, and requirements, notes, etc. before you hit the final Submit.

Ok, do I have to close the game before I am able to do that?

I build a sim and I want to upload her to trs. If she is already out of the CAS, can I still upload her?

Unfortunately no. At this time, TSR is only accepting Sims exported from CAS, not families/households. The site techs are working on it though. So stay tuned. When they are ready to accept household submissions, they will post an announcement.

In CAS, click on the ... button by your Sims thumbnail on the bottom of the screen. You'll see options to Create a Twin, Share, and Save to Bin. Select Share. The Share button will export your Sim to allow you to either upload to the exchange or here at TSR. Using the Share button creates a Sims3.pack file of your Sim which is needed for uploading. You can find the Sims3.pack files for all of your "shared" creations in your My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims3/Exports folder.

The TSR submissions area is here.

Edit: Since you already had an active thread asking about uploading Sims, I have merged your new thread into the old one.

I've discovered a way to export the sims after they have left Create a Sim. (But you still will not be able to upload them here, this is just a way to package them if you missed it from CAS)

1. In the town of your choice, choose the Option button (F5) ...
2. Select edit town
3. In the right hand menu, if it is not the default, click on show house holds
a. A clone of your sim should show with a little folder in the right hand corner, click the sim
4. Above the button that says "Place copy" you should see two icons. One looks like a "*" (Asterisk) with a little arrow, the other is a trash can.
5. Click on the asterisk ( NOT THE TRASH CAN :Apr: )
6. You will get a prompt asking for a description of the Sim/Object, fill it out if you wish the click the check
7. This will put place the sims3 pack in the My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims3/Exports path, just as it would following the above directions from CAS.

Hope this helps!

The asterisk is known as the Share icon. When you click the Share icon on any type of content in the game (objects, clothing, Sims, houses/lots, families, etc) the game creates the Sims3 pack files so you can export your creations and upload them. What you have described is the way to share households(families), which unfortunately TSR is not accepting those types of submissions right now.

I wanted to delete my other question like this one, but couldn't figure out how. Anyway, I want to create some sims to put on a website (can't put link) for others to download. Can anybody tell me how you package them so others can download them? thanks

Mattsangel,
I have deleted your other thread for you. Since we already had an active thread where I explained how to Share and package Sims, I have merged your post into that thread. Just take a look through the above posts. If there are any other questions you have after reading those, just let us know. :D

I have 3 Sims3 sims I created and uploaded to my Sims 3 Exchange page. Can I also share them here on TSR? They are only wearing clothes, hair and makeup that came with the game and only using materials that came with the game.

As long as they can be exported from Create A Sim, and have not yet been turned into families, then feel free to upload them to TSR as well. We have quite a few people who post items both here at TSR and on the Exchange. :D

Items under Uploads in the launcher should have the option to Show File. Check the box for your sim, then click the Show File button, right hand side button of the three under your file list. :)

The Exports folder is under My Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3.

I cannot upload my sims for submission sims 3, it appeared this error message: "Error Malformed XML in Sims3Pack file (2)!"

What does this mean? How can I upload my sims ? I've uploaded 3 sims with no problem. This is the first time I've seen this error :(

The only time I got that message was when my sim file was over 20meg. It could have been my custom content though. I ended up removing a lot of it - which took the filesize down - and it worked. :)
