Mushurox: The workshop comes with a live 3D preview. You should be able to re-import your textures and they will update in the Workshop instantly, and they should appear on the 3D preview in the Workshop ;) To import, simply click on the line in workshop you wish to replace, eg Multiplier. At the end of that line three little dots should appear. Click on those dots, select import, Choose your file and click done.

privetNnata: This is more than likely a bump map issue, going on your pictures and what you've said. Unfortunately there isn't a fix for them yet but no doubt the brains behind the Workshop are figuring it out now :D There's no way to tell if items have bump maps either, until you go in-game.. as they don't appear in the Workshop. So you'd be best off cloning an item, colouring the multiplier grey and then seeing that in game first - and if there are creases on that then you know it's a bump map, then you would re-clone something else ;)

There is no opportunity to correct bump map... It is sad.... It very much limits opportunities re-textures:( .

Assuming you meant the 4th/D Pattern, thank you so much! I already have files with the mask ready and waiting.

Thomas, thanks!:ty:
With impatience I wait for updating. A problem with bump map small but very unpleasant. Does not give an opportunity full retextures.

Questions:
1. Is there any way to lower the file size?
2. Is it possible to take something from one area and apply it to another area, like a swimsuit and assign it to be a top?...I tried, but I'm noticing some rather bizarre issues from doing it...It worked with some items, but with other items it literally ripped the rear end out of them...I'm guessing since it seemed to apply my new texture over meshes it might also be trying to apply the alpha over meshes using alphas...nothing else makes sense really...Is there a way around it?

Props:
Just wanna say I'm having fun regardless and that's sayin' a lot! hopefully I'll get these things figured out!

I was wanting to know if there is any information on adding stencils. Every time I add just a stencil to a clothing option, save it and then install I get an error saying installation failed, please make sure you have the latest game updates and try again. All I am trying to do is add stencils, but cannot get them installed, any help would be great...thank you!

top problem solved now i have this problem
I am trying to put a stencil on my top. When I click stencil A it gives me a small red box to work with, i changed the background to black to make the stencil show. I have created my stencil and uploaded back onto the TSR Workshop but the stencil takes over the whole shirt. How do i just put it on the chest or select a small place for it to go rather than take over the whole top.

So I see someone else is having CPU issues when running the Workshop..I thought it was just me. My notebook is not exactly state-of-the-art, but it's pretty good, I mean it can run Sims3 decently, which is something. So it seems really odd that this tiny program should eat up 99% of my CPU while idling. I have the latest version of the workshop and yes, I've tried to run it without ANY other software running simultaneously, I saw no difference. It kills my PC and my zen, so please help.

Hi,

I want my character in the Sims 3 to wear a Florida State Shirt with a Seminole head on it. Im trying to figure out what exactly I need to do to add the Seminole head to it. I was able to create the .DDS file. Now what do I need to do?

I can't figure out where you are supposed to change the settings for saving the .dds file. And whenever I try to save it, a window pops up saying there are too many channels

Hi Nerzek I kept getting that message as well...Turns out it happens if the background layer is hidden...So un-hide your background layer and try again as long as you really only have the 5 channels allowed it should work!

I only have one layer and it isn't hidden. Could it have to do with the setting you are supposed to have for the .dds file?

DXT5 ARGB 8 bpp | interpolated alpha

I am using GIMP and when saving it gives me the option to change it to DXT5, but where do I/how do I
change the other things and where would I look to make sure that is how they are saving? I tried
to just save it with the DXT5 option it gives but then when I import the image to TSR it says, "Could not
set property. Object reference not set to an instance of the object."

Thanks for your help.

Hello,

I opened the afTopSleevlessOverhangLong top in the Sims 3 Workshop, and when it comes up with it's mesh, it has no colour and no resemblance to the top in-game, except the bottom of it? :S
