“Well, I guess you could say that we could have afforded to have done all the fun things and stayed at a hotel,” Andrzej smiled, “but I thought you’d prefer coming home to this.”
Amathyst felt tears stinging at the corner of her eyes, “how did you manage to arrange for it.”
Andrzej laughed, “well, your friend Jody, she still has a lot of connections in construction even if she’s some hotshot Dr. now. Plus a few careless old coworkers of hers owed her many favors for all the free stitches she done for them.”
Amathyst wandered the house. There wasn’t much in the way of furniture but it was certainly roomy. She could always furnish the home over time. Her favorite part was their bedroom, especial the view.

However over the next few days the only view she got to see wasn’t a very pleasant one.

“Are you going to be able to make it to lunch with my boss?” Andrzej asked her after one of her morning bouts of nausea. “If your sick maybe you should go to a Dr’s instead.”
“I’ll be able to make it,” she said after she finished rinsing out her mouth.

Andrzej’s boss was a tall thin beautiful woman. Andrea Geike carried herself with grace and confidence. She smiled warmly as she talked but Amathyst noticed it was more unnerving then comforting.
“So, how much has Andrzej actually told you about our business?” Andrea asked when they were seated at the table.

“He doesn’t really talk about work,” Amathyst admitted blushing.
“I see,” Andrea said, “Does that bother you?”
“Umm..sometimes,” Amathyst blushed.
“Well, we do a lot of things,” Andrea smiled, “so it may be difficult at time to describe and we do ask our workers to maintain some discretion by not discussing company business.”
Amathyst was going to ask what she could know but she felt a wave of nausa.
“Are you ok, dear?”
“I think I got a stomach bug on our honeymoon,” Amathyst said covering her mouth.
Andrea smiled, “or perhaps it’s not a bug, I think I might have a home pregnancy test you can take with you.”
Andrea went into another room and a few minutes later came out and handed Amathyst a box.
“I hope we’ll get more chances to talk,” Andrea smiled, “but I need to get back to work.”

Amathyst showed Andrzej the results of the home pregnancy test. He kissed her passionately and hand her a credit card.
“Get some baby furniture, don’t worry about the price,” he said.
Amathyst looked at the card, “can we afford that?”
“Don’t worry,” he smiled.
Amathyst had been so busy decorating one of the small bedrooms
(154) she hadn’t noticed Andrzej moving stuff into the other bedroom. It wasn’t till after the nursery was done that she discovered the door was locked. Andrzej simply said he needed the room and that he didn’t want anyone going in there for their own safety. Amathyst assumed he had some kind of science type hobby stuff in there. Some times when he locked himself in there she would hear some weird mechanical sounds along with him laughing.
