Andrzej slipped the ring on to his finger. (89)

“It’s a perfect fit, so it looks like we’re engaged.” He teased. As he leaning over to give her a kiss he whispered, “I love the ring and you.”

Amathyst felt a warm glow inside her through the rest of their meal. As they were getting ready to leave he caught her up in his arms. (90)

“I want nothing more then to make you as happy as you have made me tonight.” He whispered.

“When you’re with me I feel as if I’m the happiest woman alive,” she blushed.

He pulled her in closer and gave her a long sweet loving kiss. (91) then he scooped her up in his arms (92) and carried her towards the exit (93).

Amathyst giggled as she called for the taxi. (94) She felt like she was in a dream she never wanted to wake from. A she hung up the public phone she felt Andrzej’s arms wrapping around her waist. He nuzzeled his face against the back of her neck. His warm breath on her skin sent shivers through her and she leaned back against him.

“you are so beautiful,” he whispered over and over. She closed her eyes, letting herself be lost in the moment. Everything that followed was a blur. From his warm kisses on her chilled skin to slipping into the warm cab. The passionate kisses in the back seat of the cab the whole way back to her place to reaching her door and fumbling with the key as he nibbled on her ear.

In her room things slowed down.

“I want us to remember this night for the rest of our lives.” He whispered. (95)

Amathyst pushed him back and kissed him passionately.(96) “We will,” she purred.

* * * * *

They woke just before sun up.

“I have to go,” he said gently, running his hands through her hair as she laid with her head on his chest.

She groaned and reluctantly crawled for the warm bed.

“Go back to bed,” he instructed before giving her a loving kiss (97), “I’ll dress in the bathroom so as not to keep you up.”

“Stay for Pancakes,” she pleaded.

“I can’t ever say no to you” he laughed.

She grinned at him. “that’s why I love you.”

He watchd her as she prepared them breakfast. She hummed as she stirred the batter and poured them in the frying pan. She made two plates and joined him at the table.

“Your going to spoil me.” He said as she a plate in front of him.

“If I didn’t, you wouldn’t spoil me make.” She laughed.

“I realized I don’t know what you like to do for fun.” He said taking a bite of the pancakes. “are you into music or sports or do you actually enjoy all the gardening you do.” (98)

She laughed. “I hate all the yard work this place requires.” she let out a deep sigh then added, “you might think this is odd, my being a girl and all, but at work, we have to keep all the expedition equipment in good working order, I love doing that.”

“tinkering, really?” he smiled, “then I guess when my teleascope breaks you’ll be able to fix it for me.”

“you like science type things, I never would have guessed that,” Amathyst took a big fork full of her pancakes. The realization that she was engaged to a man she knew so little about didn’t bother her as much as she knew it should.

After that they became even more attached at the hip. Spending as much time together as possible and no matter where they were they seemed unaware of their surroundings. (98)

“How many kids do you think we should have?” she asked him at Michael’s birthday party. (99)

“I don’t care, lots, few or somewhere in between.” He said, “how many do you want?”

“I’m not really sure,” she laughed, “at least one, maybe more.”

“How about we leave it to chance then.” He suggested.

* * * * *

More and more of their dates ended with him sleeping over. (100)

Finally, one morning when he didn’t have to rush off, she found him out side doing yard work. (101)

“I was thinking, your almost always here, why don’t you just move in.” she said.

“You don’t want to wait till after the wedding?” he asked.

“I think we’re past all that, besides we’re getting married soon enough, what a few months.” She laughed.

“I guess I’ll go get my telescope then.” He hugged her (102) before going into the house to get dressed.

Amathyst was amazed when Andrzej returned with a few cloths, a telescope and very little cash. She didn’t say anything as she pushed the little bit of clothing she owned aside to make room in the dresser for his stuff.

“Everything between us happened so fast I hadn’t really started saving up for this,” he said handing her things to put away.

Amathyst gave him a warm smile as she refolded his PJs.

“Most the furniture belonged to my room mates, and well, I’m sorry,” he said sitting on the edge of the bed.

“Sorry for what?” She asked pausing to look at him.

“I don’t have more,” He said looking at his lap.

“Did you forget when I first moved here I lived in a tent?” she laughed.

“No, I didn’t forget, it’s why I believe you deserve more then I have right now.” He said giving her a longing look.

“You do have a job right?” she teased.

“Yeah, of course I do” he said.

“Well, adding your income to mine will give me more then what I have now.” She said smilingly warmly. She leaned over and kissed him on the cheek.

He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her into the bed with him.

* * * * *

Life fell into a comfortable rhythm for them. They’d sun bath on the beach. (103) Amathyst showed him how to find the treasures on the beach to sell to the local tourist shops and he’d often dig in the sand to pass the time while she was working. (104)

Andrzej would often spend hours at his telescope in the evenings. (105)

Sometimes Amathyst would try looking through the telescope. (106) She just never could see all the interesting things he swore were out there. Where he saw cascades of colorful swirls and brilliant lights; she only saw blurry clouds and blinking stars. He talked about showers of meteors sailing across dark canvases. All she saw were little scratches of light in the night. Eventfully she decided she preferred listening to him talk about the wonders in the night sky over trying to look at them herself.

Amathyst continued to try her hand at gardening, but was convinced she would never have a green thumb. It seemed to her that just as many plants died as survivied. (107) she wondered if she was waisting more money by trying to grow her own food then she was actually saving. She knew she would never have the nice lush bountiful gardens like Jessica and Sunshine. No matter how many tips they gave her, her vegitables where never as taste as theirs.

As the day for the wedding drew closer, Amathyst realized she had nothing she could wear. She looked over the few cloths she had and wondered if maybe it was time to make a change. Her and Andrzej had been putting every simolean they made aside to pay for the wedding and possibly a cheap honeymoon. She wanted their wedding to be special and she didn’t own anything that made her feel special. All the cloths she owned reminded her of her life before him.

She’d spent most of her life feeling alone and disconnected. She’d been with plenty of foster families willing to adopt her but she never wanted that to happen. She’d act out until they didn’t want her anymore. She’d had her own family once and they were lost to her. they weren’t people that could be replaced. She’d had a good life before she became an orphan and to her, being adopted would have been dening it.

Most the kids she knew in foster care felt differently then she did. Most were all for being adopted. To have a permanent home surrounded by love. She just had had a harder time with the idea then most.

Now it was time to put all that behind her. Time to move on and build onto her family with Andrzej, she would be bringing him into her family.

Not being very current on fashion she called for help. A girls day out shopping. Jessica, Roximarie and Sunshine all met her at her house. (107) Jody had to pull a double shift at work and couldn’t make it.

They piled in a cab and headed to the little local clothing store.

Amathyst pulled Jessica aside. “I trust your taste the most, I need more then a wedding dress while we’re here.” (108)

“You need something seductive for the wedding night?” Jessica giggled.

“More then that,” Amathyst spread her arms out and looked herself over, “I need a new look.”

Jessica laughed, “well then pick something out that you like.”
“If it was that easy, I wouldn’t be dressed like this.” Amathyst sighed, “and I wouldn’t need an entourage to pick out a wedding dress.”

“I think you look fine, but if you want a change, I’ll help you.”

As Amathyst searched the racks for the perfect wedding dress, Jessica started pulling out a whole new wardrobe for her. (109)

It didn’t take long for the other two girls to figure out what Jessica was up too.

“don’t worry, we will keep her taste in mind,” Roximarie told Jessica. “how about if I pick out some undies and PJs. While you and Sunshine tackle everything else.” (110)

Amathyst started to wonder if eloping would have been easier as she tried on dress
(111)
after dress (112) after dress. (113)

“Here, try this one.” Sunshine said hand her one that looked like sack with a flower on it.

“It seems so shapeless and plain,” Amathyst frowned.

“Just try it on,” Sunshine stuffed the dress in Amathyst arms and shoved her towards the dressing room.

Amathyst gave in and tried it on. (104)

It was perfect.

With the wedding right around the corner they were both so busy that it seemed their schedules left little time for them to spend together. Amathyst started reading in the bedroom just so she could be close to Andrzej, even if he was asleep. (105)

He was often still sleeping when she would have to leave for work. (106) he would be at work when she got home and she would have to eat alone. (107)

When they were both home and awake there was work to be done around the house. Since Amathyst was more mechanically inclined then he was, she took care of many of the major repairs. (108)

Sometimes she would be busy making sure the house was ready for the big event, she would hear him in the other room on the phone, whispering. (109) It made her nerves but she would console herself by believing it he was making some kind of surprise plans for her. Maybe honeymoon arrangements.

On the day of the wedding, Amathyst discover that someone had stolen the newspaper. (120) She would have to listen to the weather report on the radio.

Even thou the weather said there was a small chance of rain the day was perfect. The rental company set everything up in the morning. There was little Amathyst and Andrzej had to do but await the guest. All of who showed up on time. (121)

They gave everyone a few minutes to find seats before making their way down to the arch. (122)

“Last chance to make a run for it,” Andrzej whispered to her under the arch. (123)

“Well, I was thinking about it,” she teased under her breath, “but you look so good in that suite, I don’t think I could leave even if I wanted.”

They recited their own vowels that they had written in secret. Andrzej seemed very moved as he spoke his. (124) They kept things more traditional as they exchanged rings. (125) A kiss at the end sealed the ceremony. (126) when they parted, the guest stood and clapped. (127)

They kept the reception simple with a buffet right after the ceremony. Andrzej cut the cake (128) .

“Don’t even think about smashing any of that in my face.” She winked at him.

“Not even married ten minutes and you’re already taking the fun out of everything.” He laughed getting a forkful of cake. (129) He gently feed her a bite then tapped her nose with the fork leaving just a little bit of frosting.

“So that’s how it’s gonna be?” she laughed leaning forward and rubbing her nose on his.

“I just wanted a kiss.” He grinned before kissing her.

She let out a deep happy sigh. She felt her love for him so strongly as they found seats at the table. (130) It wasn’t long til others joined them at the table with either a slice of cake or another helping from the Buffet table. (131)

The party lasted most of the afternoon. Everyone seemed to be having a good time finding different activities. There was mingling inside the house (132) and out. Some got carried away by the music, just cutting loose and dancing. (133) The beach was even a source of entertainment (134) though no one ventured in for a late summer swim.

Amathyst lost herself in the moment with her new husband. Andrzej held her gently and they slow danced the day away. (135) As he pulled her closer for a kiss, she knew she couldn’t have ever imagined a more perfect life. (136)

At first Amathyst was a little taken back when she found out that their honeymoon would be camping in the mountains. (137)

“You described your memories of camping with your grandfather with such happiness and delight,” Andrzej said lifting her chin to face him, (138) “I wanted to put the joy for camping back into your heart.”

Andrzej had planned their honeymoon to consist of more then just roughing it in the mountains. They took tours during the day and at night found great local things to do. Amathyst couldn’t decide which she liked better; the hotspring (139) or the massages. (140)

The camp ground it self provided lots for them to do. The locals taught her their version of darts. They had a large target set up that required the tossing of axes at it.

“Andrzej did you see that,” Amathyst laughed as the axe thudded into the thick wood. (141)

“Great shot honey.” He responded.

When Andrzej stopped to smell the flowers (142) causing her to laugh til she cryied, she had to admit that he was putting the joy back in camping for her.

Andrzej enjoyed fishing at the camp grounds well stocked pond. Amathyst joined him a few times. (143) She found it fun sometimes, but the adverture in her preferred to treasure hunt. She’d spent hours looking for the perfect spot to dig and dug up a few random treasure. (144)

All the other campers were friendly and every night there was a cook out that was shared by all. (145) Amathyst started to notice that when people inquired about their professions that she was readily able to answer but Andrzej described his job of consisting off odd jobs. She realized that was all she knew about his work.

“So, how do you feel about camping now?” He asked while they were sitting in the sauna at the spa. (146)

“Well if life was like this when I was living in my little tent, I think I would still be living in it.” She laughed.

“So then mission accomplished,” he smiled moving to sit next to her. “are you disappointed that we didn’t stay at some big fancy hotel?” (147)

“Not anymore,” she smiled leaning against him with her head on his shoulder. “Besides, I don’t think we could have afford all this and a hotel stay. We would have been stuck at the room the whole time.”

“would that have been a bad thing?” he mumbled as he nuzzled her hair.

“No,” she whispered leaning her head back for him to kiss her.

Soon they had added their own steam to the cloudy room.

When it came time for them to finally leave Amathyst was torn between looking forward to being back in her own bed and not wanting the fun to end. (148)

Andrzej grinned at her in the cab, “I got a bit of a surprise waiting for you at home.”

That was all it took for her to get excited about returning home.

As they got closer to home she had to rub her eyes. She could hardly believe what she was seeing. The house deffently didn’t look like that when they had left. Even as they got out of the cab she had to pinch her self to be sure what she was seeing was real. (149)

“welcome to your new home.” Andrzej said. She just stood there stareing at the two story building that stood where her house had been. (150)

“Well, I guess you could say that we could have afforded to have done all the fun things and stayed at a hotel,” Andrzej smiled, “but I thought you’d prefer coming home to this.”

Amathyst felt tears stinging at the corner of her eyes, “how did you manage to arrange for it.”

Andrzej laughed, “well, your friend Jody, she still has a lot of connections in construction even if she’s some hotshot Dr. now. Plus a few careless old coworkers of hers owed her many favors for all the free stitches she done for them.”

Amathyst wandered the house. There wasn’t much in the way of furniture but it was certainly roomy. She could always furnish the home over time. Her favorite part was their bedroom, especial the view. (151)

However over the next few days the only view she got to see wasn’t a very pleasant one. (152)

“Are you going to be able to make it to lunch with my boss?” Andrzej asked her after one of her morning bouts of nausea. “If your sick maybe you should go to a Dr’s instead.”

“I’ll be able to make it,” she said after she finished rinsing out her mouth.

* * * * *

Andrzej’s boss was a tall thin beautiful woman. Andrea Geike carried herself with grace and confidence. She smiled warmly as she talked but Amathyst noticed it was more unnerving then comforting.

“So, how much has Andrzej actually told you about our business?” Andrea asked when they were seated at the table. (153)

“He doesn’t really talk about work,” Amathyst admitted blushing.

“I see,” Andrea said, “Does that bother you?”

“Umm..sometimes,” Amathyst blushed.

“Well, we do a lot of things,” Andrea smiled, “so it may be difficult at time to describe and we do ask our workers to maintain some discretion by not discussing company business.”

Amathyst was going to ask what she could know but she felt a wave of nausa.

“Are you ok, dear?”

“I think I got a stomach bug on our honeymoon,” Amathyst said covering her mouth.

Andrea smiled, “or perhaps it’s not a bug, I think I might have a home pregnancy test you can take with you.”

Andrea went into another room and a few minutes later came out and handed Amathyst a box.

“I hope we’ll get more chances to talk,” Andrea smiled, “but I need to get back to work.”

* * * * *

Amathyst showed Andrzej the results of the home pregnancy test. He kissed her passionately and hand her a credit card.

“Get some baby furniture, don’t worry about the price,” he said.

Amathyst looked at the card, “can we afford that?”

“Don’t worry,” he smiled.

Amathyst had been so busy decorating one of the small bedrooms (154) she hadn’t noticed Andrzej moving stuff into the other bedroom. It wasn’t till after the nursery was done that she discovered the door was locked. Andrzej simply said he needed the room and that he didn’t want anyone going in there for their own safety. Amathyst assumed he had some kind of science type hobby stuff in there. Some times when he locked himself in there she would hear some weird mechanical sounds along with him laughing. (155)

“I can’t believe we’re both pregnant!” Jessica exclaimed when Amathyst told her the news at Michael’s birthday party. (156) “Our kids are going to grow up together.”

Amathyst had a great time at Michael’s party, (157) until the argument broke out. Andrzej and Jason had gotten into a disagreement (158) but over what she didn’t know. When fist started flying (159) Amathyst knew there was a really problem between the two but neither would discuss it with her.

After the party, Jessica let Amathyst use her computer.(160) She tried researching what ever she could find about Andrzej, his boss and her husband who was also her business partner. She didn't find a lot of info on them, but what she did find only hinted to suspicous activities. There was no real proof of illegal activity but the police were watching the powerful couple and many of their employess, including Andrzej. Amathyst sighed as a tear rolled down her face. She now understood why her best friend who was a well respect police officer would not get along with her husband who might possibly be involved in illeagal activity. She took a deep breath and reminded herself there was no real proof her husband was breaking the law. He deserved her love and sapport.

sorry about the delay in posts. I've been overwelmed at work this past month, and after writing tons of reports up I had nothing left in me to do more writing. but I am all caught up.

TSR is planning to change servers and when they move the screenshots will not be moved. even though I do not have an overwelming number of images to move to photobucket, I really don't want to go through the hassel.

I will be using a photo hosting site but will be keeping the story on TSR. thank you all for reading. hope you are enjoying.

Jody and BJ had finally set the date. Amathyst was glad she wasn’t showing when she slipped into the new formal dress that Andrzej had bought for her.

“Are you sure you don’t want to come?” She asked as Andrzej slid the zipper up on the back of her dress.

“I like Jody to much to risk the possibility of getting into a fight with her brother and ruining her big day.” Andrzej said kissing the back of her neck.

* * * * *

The ceremony was beautiful. The party got livelier after the cutting of the cake.

Amathyst found herself being watched by a woman she had never seen before.

“Who is that woman?” She asked Jody when the friends finally had a moment to talk.

“Amanda Carson, Jason’s girlfriend.” Jody said, “I think things are getting really serious between them, she stays over a lot.”

“Does he ever talk to that other girl?”

“Yeah, sometimes she calls to chat, but she’s living with her college sweetheart now,” Jody laughed, “I heard he proposed over a bowl of cereal.

Amathyst giggled, “I guess that’s college romance for you. How did Jason take the news?”

“Pretty good, but I think that’s because he’s got Amanda now. I think he’s a one woman man now.”

Amathyst gave her friend a hug good-bye. She grabbed a plate of jello Andrzej on her way home.

The months flew by and before Amathyst knew it she was on maternity leave. Jessica had been a few months rurther along then Amathyst. Just as Amathyst was starting her maternity leave Jessica gave birth to a little girl, Jennifer.

Seeing how restless being home made her, Andrzej bought Amathyst a toy making bench. She spent many hours making toys for her little one. She even made a few extra toys that she was able to sell to the same store that bought the little trinkets she found on the beach.

Amathyst would feel the most restless just before Andrzej was due home from work and she would try to do the yard work while she waited for him.

“How are my precious gems?” he ask returning home taking her hands in his.

“we’re doing good.” She’d smile and wrap her arms around him for a kiss.

“Is mommy telling me the truth?” he said in a silly voice to her belly before tickling her.

Amathyst giggled, then let out a little wimper.

“what’s wrong, honey?” Andrzej asked.
“I keep getting pains in my lower back.” She said giving Andrzej a worried look.

He rubbed her back for a few moments, “maybe you should go take a bath and I’ll make us a light dinner.”

“that sounds good.” She gave him a quick kiss on the check and head up stairs. She ran a hot bath for herself and add a sweet smelling bubble bath. Peeling off her maternity cloths she slipped into the warm water feeling her muscles relax as the water enveloped her body.

Amathyst pulled on her PJ’s, The pain in her back moved to her tummy. She made her way downstairs to the kitchen. The pain was more then she could bare. She let out a scream.
