June 2011 Building Contest (Sponsored by S2HBAA)

One of the greatest things about Sim City is its baked goods! Known far and wide for their talent and creativity, the bakers of Sim City are a unique bunch! Sim Appetite magazine is doing a feature article on this, and is stopping by all of the bakeries in the city for their story! What will they see when they reach your shop?
The particular rules for this month's building contest are as follows:
1. COMMUNITY and BUSINESS lots only.
2. Your lot MUST feature a bakery. It does not need to be a ‘working’ bakery (in other words, you do not need to have the Open For Business ep).
3. Give your bakery a specialty. This could be a particular style, theme, or item produced by your bakery. The key thing is that your bakery is unique from other bakeries.
4. Your lot(s) must be fully furnished and decorated.
5. You may submit your lot(s) until June 30, 2011. Judging will occur promptly on July 1, 2011.
The following rules apply to all of our monthly contests:
1. You may use custom content and game cheats to place objects. We are no longer requiring lots to be uploaded to TSR, therefore, you may use any custom content you wish in your lots.
2. Speaking of uploading, if you do plan to upload your lot to TSR, please do not do it until the winner has been decided. Whoever the winner is earns the right to list in their lot description that they are that month's winner of the S2HBAA Monthly Contest.
3. You may enter more than one lot, but remember that we judge based on quality, not quantity. Therefore, we recommend you only submit one or two lots per monthly contest.
4. You cannot submit a lot that you’ve previously built or previously entered in another contest. All lots must be original and made expressly for this month’s S2HBAA contest.
5. When you are ready to present your lot for judging, simply post at least 10 screenshots of different aspects of it. If you have special areas that you think we should look at more carefully, you may post as many additional photos as you find appropriate (we love photos!!). We prefer photos to be presented using a site such as Photobucket since it is very easy and fun to view the photos, but if you choose to use TSR’s photo attachment option, please post them all at one time so that they don't get separated between other entrants' photos. Also, take your photos carefully, as that's all we have to go by when we judge!
6. In your post, please also list the following information: Name of Lot and a Small Description of the Lot.
All right, that's how it goes! Extra special thanks to Pickle123, who started the monthly contest many years ago! This is a friendly competition, and no physical prizes are awarded. We come together to test out new building ideas that we may not have considered before as well as to have some fun. We are a supportive bunch and welcome all to participate!
If you are interested in participating, please leave a comment to let me know so that I can determine how many judges we may need.
Good luck, everyone! I can't wait to see your lots!

Great villa bakery! I completed mine but my father in law died this week so I'll be busy. Hope to get the pics up in time.

I made a psudo-tudor/old English bakery. The Goode family (should have named them "Baker") live upstairs, in one large room - except for the bath room (where there is only a tub, the other facilities are out back). Downstairs is the kitchen and the bakery; a door will keep customers from wandering their private quarters. Of course, they grow wheat, and have hens for eggs. The Mrs. cooks in a stone oven (I tried to hide the frig). While most of the bread is from a fab CC, she also MAKES bread, and some cakes. Goods are displayed on tables, and the only concession to "modern" things are a cash-register and phone. Had fun making this, and anticipate problems when the babies come. Testing .. yea, the link works! Maybe I should have done close-ups of products, but they are just CC; wish I could remember who did them.

Oh, Grandma--I'm so sorry to hear about your father-in-law. :( Many thoughts and prayers are with you! *hugs!*
And I apologize to everyone for my silence the past couple months. My boss was fired and her position eliminated, which means I am now a one-person department. So, I've had time to pop on and check out the pics, but I haven't had time to comment. :( I hope to get things under some sort of control this month, so hopefully I'll be back around more often!

Well, I did not notice you didn't add a bathroom. I was looking at the nice set of colors that you selected for your bakery. I also really liked the exterior walls with the peeling brick. It added a nice authentic touch. :--)

What a great group of bakeries!! I love how all of you picked an older style to use for your bakeries. The custom content you gals used is so perfect!!
As usual, it was tough to pick the winner! But we've finally agreed, and so please congratulate..... grammapat for her lovely Tudor bakery! :rah:
I've posted the July contest, so I hope you will check it out! Something a little different for us, I hope! :)
