I recentl;y had to reinstall my whole downloads Folder as it got corrupted and I was missing a few patterns which I got from somewhere so I decided to export them and then reinstall them to the game but although the game installed them I couldnt find them anywhere.

Then I tried making a Sim with clothes with thos patterns on and installed her but again the game doesnt see the patterns..

Any idea please how I can get the game to properly recognise patterns ? The patterns seem to be in .png format according to Custard.

One last thing too how do you get patterns placed into the Misc Patterns category please ?

thanks

Sims 3 will only read Sims3Pack or .package file CC. A .png file is simply an image file it's not a pattern so I suspect it's there simply to show what the pattern looks like but it certainly shouldn't be in the Mods folder or in the Downloads folder either :--)
You can't put things in Misc, it depends on how the pattern has been categorised by whoever's made it as to what category it appears in once in game.
Where did you download the patterns from?

I think perhaps I didn't make myself clear - what I meant is I package the patterns from ingame as a Sims3pack file - Custard shows the pack and the picture saved as a .png but it is still a Sims3pack.

Most of the patterns that I don't have were TSR Downloads from 2009 and 2010 I think - ofc when I rebui8lt my Downloads I think I missed some clothing or packaged Sims perhaps.

What I don't understand as I mentioned is why doesnt the game see Sims3pack patterns and also why doesnt the game see a packaged Sim with the patterns packaged as a Sims3pack ?

Ahh, there are issues with anything made before November 2009 so that could be why you're having problems with those files. EA changed the way the launcher reads information at that point any anything made prior to that which wasn't updated often won't install properly now.
I am confused though as to why you're packaging the patterns from the game into Sims3pack files if they're already in the game? Or do you mean these are patterns you'd had in the game and exported previously?

Those patterns were in my old corrupted game files and I had to reinstall everything, so in my game folders they dont exist at present.

I think I possibly missed some files along the way possibly packaged with a Sim or Clothing I think.

At least I now see why some stuff the game doest recognise as like you said its probably pre 2009
