Sims game won't load?

I had the Sims installed on my computer quite a while ago and it worked just fine, but I no longer have that computer. I tried to install the game on my laptop with a new serial number given to me by the EA Games Support (I'd lost the game manual with this number on it) and installation seemed just fine. After it was installed and I tried to load my game however, I realized that the game was not working. The grey loading screen with the red Sims logo appears for a second or two and then the whole thing crashes and I get a Windows error saying that there's a problem with the Sims game.

Is there a way to fix this problem?

(Note, I am using the Sims Complete Collection disk set.)

We are going to need you to post a DxDiag of your system specs so we can assess this laptop to know if it can handle the game or not. Instructions for that can be found here.
