Hi All,

I have the Sims 3 installed with most of the addons, including pets. Whenever I play, the game partially freezes every few seconds. When this happens, the sim stops moving, anything I click will show me the possible actions AFTER it unfreezes. Also strange: Non-sim objects (trees, water, etc) continue to act as if the game is not frozen.

I have the latest vid drivers, pc is defragged weekly (it's my gaming pc), airflow is more then adequate. Tried having TS3 set as HIGH priority as well.

My wife's computer (slightly slower processor and slightly older vid card but otherwise the same) does the exact same thing.

DXDiag info for my machine is below..

Has anyone else had this issue or know how to resolve it?

Thanks

Chris

I have the EXACT same issue. I was going to make a new thread but I don't think I could have explained it better. I also have all of the expansions and various shop items. A couple of downloadable sims and houses, but no unofficial mods. This issue is only happening now, with my new computer. My older build used a dual core. Now I have a quad core and from I have been hearing this might be an issue, but I am no expert. Anyway, here is my DxDiag.

Wow. You've got a much newer system then mine and you're still having issues.

For yours, have you tried setting it to only use 2 cores?

I am having this now too and only since installing Pets/patch and only if I have CC in the game. I think it may be caused by some of the beds that still have issues after the rig fix. I had just a bit of CC in with some beds I was testing and it did it. With no CC in I have no problems. Just ran all my CC with the rig fix and now have the lag again.

I have a desktop with an i7 that I bought in July and a laptop built for gaming that is about 2 years old. It does it on both of them. I am pulling out my CC again and will reinstall in batches to try to figure out what the problem is..... if that is the cause.

If there are so many people with the same "micro freezes" problems, and various specs, may be it's a bug from EA's Pets extension design :(

Do you all have the freezes in a clean game with no CC? I am going to test again, and if so will be pretty sure that it is being caused by CC if no problems then. Will keep you all updated. The only mods I have in now are 4 Twallan ones which he has updated, so I think they are fine. I still tend to think that some beds are causing the problem.

Off to test some more.

I am having the same problem without Pets. The only expansion I have is Ambitions. I do have quite a bit of CC installed. What is really strange, is that it freezes the longest at exactly 3:59 a.m. every time.

I have the exact same problem and it started AFTER installing World Adventures - my only addition. It mostly happens when I travel to the other countries and when I'm back home sometimes it's a little jerky but that's about it. I also have a TON of custom content for my home building and I thought this might be the cause but it's not. Over the weekend I had a major problem with Win7 and I had to do a complete reformat and reinstall. After the installation I installed Sims3 only and I had NO problems, but once again, after installing WA my hesitations reappeared. I've complained several times to EA but they NEVER even told me they received my complaints!

It's a game problem with the expansions, EA knows this but apparently they're to lazy to rectify the problem.

One last thing - prior to starting the game I open my Windows Task Manager and shut down any other programs listed on the Processes page like the updater for my iPhone and iTunes and those kind of thing to give me back more resources but it's no help as the hesitations are still there.

Oh.. one thing I did find is that when I'm traveling abroad that if I keep my inventory to a bare minimum - just carry the items I actually need - that the hesitations for some reason are not quite as bad nor last quite as long. Why? I have no idea.......
