I have not been able to find a proper granny2.dll file anywhere. I've downloaded several versions and placed them in the Rig Fix file as the instructions say, but it never tells me that it has been installed and is ready to use. Why is this?

You will only see the message about the granny.dll file IF you had downloaded the Granny Crowd Scene Demo and were essentially "borrowing" the granny.dll file from that program. If you download the granny.dll file from post #41 of this thread and place it in the RigFix folder, you will not see the message as you have the granny.dll correctly placed and are not borrowing it from another program.

If you're loading DCCache files and they don't appear in the RigFix program, it is possible that the DCCaches you are loading are of CAS items, patterns, or store items. Try navigating to your Downloads or Mods/Packages folder and manually selecting files that you know for certain are objects.

i've dowloaded granny2.dll form page 3 and put it manually in my TSR rigfix folder, and yeah i didn't get the second message pop up when i lanuched TSR rigfix. then i tried to navigating to my downloads BAM! the files showed up. but whats frustating is i have to "tick" one by one those hundreds file. and then when i click fix selected after loading several minutes a message pop up said "succesfully converted (0) files" is this right or i failed to convert it? everytime i try to convert my cc this message is the only message i got. and it make no change to my game? what should i do?

Maratus, see my post right above yours as to why you are not getting the message. The RigFix tutorial was written when RigFix first came out, and at that time it was recommended to download a program called granny Crowd Scene Demo to get the granny.dll file. The pop-up messages will only be generated if the granny.dll file is being borrowed from the program Granny Crowd Scene demo. If you have the granny.dll file from this thread, then you will not get a message popping up about the granny.dll. RigFix will just let you get on with your business.

If you are pointing RigFix to the Downloads folder, that is not going to fix what is currently installed in your game. The Downloads folder is just for items waiting to be installed. So that will only fix items that have not been installed yet. Depending on when you downloaded those items, they may not need to be fixed. The files here at TSR were fixed by November 1, 2011. So if you downloaded content after that date, it has already been fixed and you do not need to run RigFix on those items.

Installed content will be found in the ebc/dbc files in the DCCache folder and a backup package file will be placed in the DCBackup folder for use when exporting Sims and lots from the game. That's where you need to point Rigfix if the content is already installed in your game. Usually if an item needs to be fixed, it should automatically be checked. If there is no check mark and under the Encrypted Rig heading it says No, then the item does not need to be fixed. You only need to fix items that say Yes under Encrypted Rig.

If it says No under Encrypted Rig and the box is not automatically checked, then there is nothing to fix. You only need to fix files that say Yes under the Encrypted Rig heading

Eh, another one with the RigFix issue, sorry.
Yes, I have the RigFix and the granny from TSR site here.
I have run it and fixed the folders, download folder, mod/package folder etc etc.
Still, I can't place stuff on tables or counters or any surface.
The sinks still sink to the floor, they don't show up as a sink in the kitchen.
Well, help please!
thnx,
Simlinny

Hello!
So I've been trying to upload a lot I've made and bumped into a Rig problem.
I've seen the tutorial and have followed the entire TSR RigFix without a hitch. I reopened my game and made another copy of the said lot for sharing. Just to be sure I deleted all the objects in it besides the doors, windows, floors and wallpapers and made separate save for that. Basically the same lot but this time unfurnished.
I tried uploading both of these here in TSR and I am still having the same Rig problem.
I tried uploading another unfurnished lot I made before and it uploaded fine.
What seems to be the problem? Any ideas?
Thank you!

I wonder if there's such thing as Simmers Anonymous.

Hey there Crumblet :)

If you're run the program itself with no problem, then your issue one for the Support Staff to handle. Please send them a ticket.

I had the same problem as others, when i was clicking on files nothing showed up and then it said, nothing was selected to fix.

So instead i clicked on open folder and did it that way, well it took hours, it hadn't had nearly half the stuff automatically ticked like the tutorial said, so i went through and ticked it all manually and fixed the lot.

The problem is, i don't know if this was right as although my counter tops etc are all working my game is taking literally an hour to load and when it finally loads up the game is running painfully slowly.

I know the error isn't my CC as i've had the same stuff and been playing it all fine for ages, i have a new computer which is more than up to it so only thing i can think of is the rig fix? did i over fix??

please help, totally ruining my day off from work lol can't build anything i wanted to without waiting ages for each item to appear load place etc etc.

There's no such thing as "overfixing." All RigFix is able to do is make furniture slots useable again, so there's nothing to overfix. And the slots won't have any bearing on how your game runs.

Do you have a slow running game in all neighborhoods? Just in one? Is it all families or just the ones you play with regularly?

I have had so many problems with rig fixer. First with the whole granny2 dll thing. But now when I try to fix selected from the downloads folder, first it comes up with 17 encrypted/unusable files, and then it seems as though I have to tick all the boxes munually. Even when I tick some of them it still comes up with only "4 items converted successfully"

Need help!!

I waited a while before installing Pets because of all the problems (of course, I installed it many months ago) and most of my CC has been fixed by the creators. HOWEVER, there are noticeably beds that are still broken and I thought - after all this time - to check for a fix instead of my current course of action which is to delete. My question is, since most of the stuff has been fixed, do I need to run everything over the RigFix or just the items I know are still broken? Additionally, while I know TSR doesn't support this, I've been considering the decrapifying thing because I extract the majority of sims3pack files into package files (to group with s3PE) and I'm reading that the decrapify process may fix the counters that get broken when they're extracted. (I've since started keeping the counter sims3packs but I've extracted many prior to learning the extraction was the problem.) I'm assuming RigFix won't cause any problems with decrapifying but it never hurts to put it out there!

Thanks!

If I'm remembering right, double beds cannot be fixed by RigFix, and it's up to the creators to repair those. (I'm not sure that issue applies to single beds. I used RigFix on my CC single beds and it seemed to work okay.)

Can't help you on decrapifying, sorry. That's something you may want to research over at MATY.

I discovered through further research that Beds and Bathtubs are problematic AND Grant Hess has kindly given us instructions on how to modify the Beds in s3PE! A bit troublesome simply because of having to type in numbers/letters and hoping it's right but that's it....tried it on a Bed and it works perfectly now!

I'm having content that was made long-post-Pets-patch show up in the Rig Fixer as "encrypted rig". Before I go off on a wild tear telling all these creators that their stuff isn't Post-Pets-Patch compatible, are there any known issues with Rig Fix throwing false positives?

At this point, anything's possible. :D
Do the items place and slot correctly in your game? That's probably the most telling test.
