When my sim goes to bed upstairs things look normal when I'm upstairs (pic 1) but, when I focus on the downstairs to deal with other sims, my sleeping sim is visible and appears to be floating in mid air. (pic 2) has this happened to anyone else and how do I fix this. It looks weird and is distracting. I don't have any special beds or reward points bed/sleep, there is a roof on the house and carpet on the floor. Any suggestions?

I forgot to mention, when she's up and doing something she falls through the floor in her bedroom and has to come back up stairs to finish what she started.

I thought maybe the sleeping in mid air might be a graphics thing, but the falling through the floor is not. give 'resetsim' a try and see if that fixes things. otherwise maybe there is a problem with the house.

Thanks Sheridan,

I'm about to go back in and play but before the game shut down last night I did a VERY stupid thing. I thought I was playing sims 2 and tried to reset the sim by "moveobjects on" and deleting the sim. Then I saved and expected her to be by the mailbox when I restarted the game.... Bad move! When I went back into the game she was gone and her icon was gone. Then my other sims froze and what a disaster. So, I used T's Master Controller and reset the lot. That worked and now they're all one happy family again... However, she is still falling though the floor. When I got my family back, I got her husband the collector thingy (looks like a butterfly) so he could go find all the little critters (snakes, rodents etc.) but when he clicked on "snakes" and went to town view my game crashed!!! So now I will try to reset just my floating sim and see what happens. If that doesn't work - I'm moving on to another world and starting again. Right now I'm in Twinbrooks.

If you move a sim around using "moveobjects on," they will begin to fall through the floor afterwards.
You can either: continue to use movobjects on to set them on the correct floor level, or use "resetsim." You may have to use resetsim several times to get it to "take."

That's interesting. I did use moveobjects on to move a couple of sims - she was one, because they got stuck upstairs. I had been using a spiral staircase (one that came with the game) and they went up it ok but couldn't get back down, even though there was nothing in the way up or down. I ended up redesigning the house and putting in regular stairs.

The spiral stairs are kind of spotty. The custom ones in my house have worked 9 out of 10 times, while the EA ones in a custom club seem to break regularly. In any case, the last post in this thread will tell you how to fix the staircase if your sims can't use one in future.
