Is it possible to...

1. Have an apartment with a communal bathroom?

2. Resurrect a Landgraab and have the family name NOT be Landgraab IV?

3. Find out in advance what features a baby is most likely to have, or identify which facial features in parents are most likely to be dominant in offspring?

Thanks in advance

It IS possible to have an apartment with a communal bathroom. It is difficult to play though...unless you want unhappy sims that is. The main trouble is that they keep gettting wants to buy toilet, buy shower, buy sink, ect. Building up aspiration points or moving into gold or platinum moods is pretty tricky.

I built an apartment like this once and it was fun to see how nasty the bathroom got after a while...especially with 5 other tennants using it. :D Simwardrobe has a hacked stove (the one from University) that allows an apartment lot to have a full time cook, just like a dorm. With this in place and a communal shower, all your sim needs in a room big enough for a bed. It's miserable but rent was around 160/week IIRC.

Can't help with your other questions.
If an unreliable, difficult to maintain car, with 250,000 different seat covers was a video game, it would look like TS3.

2. You can rename a sim using the Tombstone of Life and Death, so it would be easy to change the Landgraab family name for each individual sim.

3. As a general rule the bigger and uglier a facial feature is, the more likely the offspring are likely to inherit it :D

Regarding 2, isn't that only usable for the first name? The family name (surname) remains the same, right?

And as for 3, I created two Sims who are, as nearly as I can tell, quite attractive and good-looking, yet their children have some really strange features, including oddly sunken eyes and pointed ears--even though neither parent has pointed ears at all. So, if that's the case, what happened? And is there any way to modify these children and/or their parents so these features don't get passed along? Or, if I used one of the Career Rewards to modify a Sim's facial structure, is there any way to pass THESE features on instead of their original features?

I had heard of something called SimPE being used to recreate family trees--that is, create Sims in entirely different families and somehow connect them so they are actually related. Could that be used for #2?

Yes, SimPE can be used to change a Sim's last name.

I'm not sure about the facial features. I seem to recall hearing that there were problems with some of the face templates which could cause that, with the Ruben brothers from Sim State being used as examples. However, it was long enough ago that I'm not sure of the details.

Sorry, you're right. I checked with Merola's multi-painting too, but that can only be used to change the first name. How annoying.

If you were planning to start a family with the resurrected Landgraab you could make his wife initiate the marriage and then he'd take on her last name - I think then that all the kids would be named after her.

SimPe is great, I've been slowly learning to use it and fix lots of stuff. All my Strangetown maids and nannies are now green :)

There is something in SimPE called Sim Surgery where you give an ugly sim someone else's face and I think that the new features count as 'natural' not 'surgical' for want of a better way to put it.

In the absence of any existing beautiful donors, you could make a sim with a suitable face to give to your homely kid and then dispose of the donor. Or just go into the game afterwards and give the donor new hair colour and a pair of glasses so you could tell them apart.

Hope this is a bit more helpful than my last effort.
