so do i. the original version was so much better. You can't even add you expansion packs anymore. Why did they change it. I hope they get some of the original stuff back so much easier to use.

Can you please clarify why you hate it? We are open to suggestions but we definitely won't switch back to the old version. We worked on this for the last 1,5 years.

It's just ridiculously laid out.

There's NO easy access to downloads on the front page like there used to be, you have to go through about 984759437537 drop down menus to get to the page that you want, the 'download' button on items is stupidly tiny and most people can't even see it, there's NO design whatsoever - it's just a huge mass of... whiteness, I spent Kudos on a profile colour, which is now a huge ugly mass of yet more whiteness, NOTHING is easy to find/navigate anymore... it's just... ugh!

Sorry, but if this is 1.5 years of work, then... yeah. I would have expected a LOT better quality for that amount of time. Besides, you only changed the layout a few years ago - you don't need to change every few years. A site layout is THE most important thing; it's the first thing visitors see. If you constantly change things and/or have a layout that is hard to navigate, people will simply go elsewhere. There are THOUSANDS of other websites that offer sims 2 and sims 3 downloads.

Sorry if this sounds harsh, but it's the way it is. This is the internet. On the internet, ease of access = good. This layout is an eyesore and is not easy to access anything. That = bad. I used to enjoy it here... before TSR sold out and tried to 'become' like facebook / youtube / twitter / whatever else. You're NOT Facebook. You're NOT twitter. You're a sims download site. Stop trying to change everything to blend in with the 'popular' sites.

The OLD TSR V7 and the one before were both awesome, because they were DIFFERENT. They were UNIQUE. You could take one fleeting glance at ANY of the pages, and instantly know what site you were on. This one? It's nothing special. It's nothing unique. There's nothing that draws you in.

Sorry if this sounds harsh or whatever, but I speak the truth. I don't believe in sugarcoating things. I, for one, will not be coming back here anymore. Which is a shame, because I actually came on here today to subscribe. I didn't expect to be leaving. Oh well, onto bigger and better things, I guess. :(

Well, that's your opinion. We want to go forward with the site with the latest web technologies and those have changed much in the last few years. And despite you claiming users going elsewhere, since we launched v8, we saw an increase in new user signups. Can't be that bad after all. :)

If you want to leave the site just because it refreshed its look is up to you.

Change as big as v8 will always have those who love and those who hate it. So far we've had overwhelmingly positive feedback with a few exceptions, which is only to be expected. It will take some time learning how the new site navigates, but once you get the hang of it you will realize we've made navigation a lot clearer then before and removed a lot of what we always considered "clutter".

Given time we hope you will learn to like it as well. The old site will be available for as long as we consider v8 in beta mode (that means we should be pretty much bug free). Estimated time is between 2-3 weeks from now.

I don't prefer the old TSR one bit. This is much more clean, much more bright.
And I'm actually having an easier time navigating to be honest. And I'm going to keep coming back now that the site is refreshed and updated to a much more recent version of IP.Board. A lot of things like "What expansion packs do you have?" can actually be brought back via the "Custom Profile Fields" option via the Admin CP. But I'm sure there are a dozen other things the tech team need to be looking at and fixing right now, so all the fun stuff can come later. :)

I'm not crazy about the new layout, but I'm sure I will get used to it. The biggest issue I'm having is being unable to find my bookmarked artists and bookmarking new artists. Is this feature gone? Are kudos gone as well? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :)

I honestly LOVE the new layout, but my only concern is the my account panel: when I reupdate the description box/or reuploading my avatar, it displays in the my account panel but it does not show on my actual profile page.....

@summersdress
You find your bookmarked artists here:
http://www.thesimsre...tist/bookmarked
To get to this page, in the top bar go to Hi summersdress! -> My Bookmarked Artists. On a profile page you have to click that little book with the bookmark in the user menu (where usually the site navigation is).

@MissPuppyEyes
Your profile page is most likely cached. You need to wait until the servers regenerate your site again and then you'll see the updated details.

We built 'Skip Set Items' automatically in where it makes sense.

I think the layout of the site is appealing, however, i just spent an hour downloading a ton of items only to discover that i no longer am able filter which EP's i have. Therefor, i am able to see ALL objects.. not just ones that will work for me. Needless to say, out of everything i downloaded, only 2 items worked. When i go into my account settings, im only able to select the EP's for the sims 1&2?? Whats with this?? Was a complete waste of my time, and this site is seeming to no longer be convenient for me. Is there a fix to this, or do i need to start downloading elsewhere?

We have never had any EP filters for sims 3, only sims 1 and sims 2.

Custom content works differently for Sims 3 than it did for Sims 1 and Sims 2. As long as your game is fully patched all created items are basegame compatible and not dependent on the EP's and SP's.

Lots are different since lot builders can use objects from different EP's and SP's but they should in that case always state in the description which packs are needed.

I don't hate the new version but I wish you had added the option to filter by gender and age. It's just so difficult when you are looking for something for a particular age group and you have to go through pages and pages of items.

I happen to like the new site. I like the "cleanliness" of the pages. I have not had to "go through about 984759437537 drop down menus to get to the page that you want". I think it mostly works the same as the old TSR. And why do people think the download button is so small???

What happened to the kudos? I remember something about something like kudos coming back but wonder if I've missed the notice.
