Assigning Joints, i stupidly forgot.

Hi!
So I was about to be all done with my new mesh yesterday night...try assigning it to the whole thing and..BOOM. Milkshape crashed on me..I lost hours of work. bleh. (no..I did not save even ONCE!)

So here it is...I used to know how, but i forgot. lol.
How do you select a part of a mesh(new one you did), and assign it to the part of mesh(already exsisting EA one) so it becomes part of it with the same joints assignment ?

if I am not being clear, i was making french nails for my sims. the left hand nails were already assign to the left hand fingers, as i duplicate the tips of fingers to create the nails.
But, when those were to my lickings, I duplicate them again, and used "mirror left/right" .
The new duplicate nails were right away placed on the right hand properly, but showing the left hand finger's assignment.
No seriously..I KNEW how! but when it was the time to do it..i had this face : o_O doh! LOL

Oh and take your time to answer uh..it will take me another few hours to remake this, as i must start again from scratch... :rolleyes:

Ok! so..I am done creating my new nails..only took me a bit less than 2 hours! lol.

omg..this will be a painful adventure it seems! :rolleyes:
As i was all done with both hand's nails, I exported it as my new "both hands" mesh...msd gave me an error, saying there were too many joints defined in file...and it crashed again! ( i did no assignments at all, just leave it as it is, waiting for answers on here..)
So I launched ms3d again, and tried importing my old mesh, before I duplicate it, mirror it, well..the one single hand's nails one.
Same message. Weird, because i was able to import it everytime i did changes to it.
So this means, I lost everything again..no way to import what I've done.
Should i keep trying ? lol

I'm thinking..could it be the comments ?
i had no troubles saving the file (export it)...until i copied the mesh's comment i used to make this (aftopnaked), and pasted it into my new mesh comment tab.
Since the nails have no morphs references and such, but still it is found within the comments...maybe ?

I am done for good now. But had to export as an OBJ. So no joints are saved into the file.
Now i really need your input! so I can "joint" them and add this to my game..share it too if they end up looking good enough! :)

Okay..it came back. mesh's now assigned. :0)
