I click install when trying to install a download, and it gets stuck at about 20% of bar (the one with the Sim Icon over it). Pic below. Anyone know whats wrong? Thanks

How are you trying to install the file? Are you double-clicking on the Sims3pack file to self-install? Or are you placing your Sims3packs into the Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Downloads folder and installing them in the game launcher?

Placing it in the download folder... been doing it that way for years. All of a sudden doesn't work

Actually its doing the same thing no matter how I try and install

What is it that you are trying to install? maybe if we find out what it is, we can try and install it ourselves and find out if the problem lies with the CC. does it need EPs that you don't have?

Its actually anything. I have deleted items and tried to reinstall and still the same results. For example I attached a file. Was hoping it was just CC.

Well Tried to attach a file.. But no it has been all things I have had EP for. Pretty simple stuff. Just kinda stopped working for me. Not sure why. example would be 19listo.sims3pack. Pretty simple.

I have the same problem, i extrar files into the download folder,and clic on the iten and not hapen anything.

The lots that i vave download doesn`t apear on my game.

I have the Generations Expansion Pack only, but when i seach the lots e choose only that is compatible for my expasino...

In the game lancher does not apear the files that i have download to instal them...

Need help please..

I have the same troubles,the items(Hair,Clothing,Objects) are in the downloads folder when i go to install them into the game it stops at 20% and i even let it go all day and all night the next day i go and check it is still at the same spot it never finished installing what is going on here,also i have all of the Expansion packs

Is your launcher working at all with CC. Can you uninstall anything? It could be something has corrupted your launcher. I know how to fix that without having to uninstall and reinstall your game but I need to check that I'm remebering everything before advising. I'll keep an eye on this thread to see if anyone is interested in knowing how.

I have in this folder rar files (lots,...) the had been descompress before, but those don`t apear in the game...

I can uninstall everything from my Game Launcher,have uninstall the Game and all of the expasion pack,now i am reinstalling them,then i see if i can install any new stuff

Okay I'm struggling to understand you (I'm new to forums and sometimes don't get the language used) so I'm just going to go from the beginning. You unzip your archive using 7zip etc, into documents/electronic arts/the sims 3/downloads folder. You then go install via the launcher. Are they installing? Is the installation message saying they in? Or is it once in the game that the problem is coming up? Are they showing in the library at all? Or is it when you try to install the house into the lot? If it is the last one I have had the problem also. I think it is a compatibility issue concerning patch or expansion pack. Also don't try to install the house if it is the later it will crash your game, if you struggle to uninstall a house from the launcher I have found deleting it from the library does the trick. Also on an end note. Unless the sims3pack has corrupted for some reason, or it is bad workmanship from the artist. I find most problems have to do with patch number or the expansion pack you have installed. Are they compatible? Read carefully is the artist saying he thinks it will work or he knows it works with your level. Then again the launcher and sims3pack are the worst. You can never find what you want to uninstall and eventually something crashes the launcher. Packages (mod folder) are the best way to go, package file into mod folder, installed into game, want it out go to the mod folder and delete. Simple. Pity TSR doesn't give a choice.

Mu problem is: i can`t install, becouse when i click on the file unziped (rar files not packages or simsfiles) nothing happen, there is no message in the computer...

The file does not appear in the game lancher eigher

I have only the generation pack and the life outiside acessories...

The game cannot process rar files. Rar files are just containers that have the actual package or Sims3pack files that you really need inside of them. You need to have a program on your computer that can extract those package or Sims3pack files from the rar file so they can then be used by your game.

UPDATE:
on my Laptop i deleted all of the stuff in my downloads Folder,then removed The Sims 3 and the Expansion Packs,then re-installed all of the Main Game(Sims 3) and the Expansion Pack then i installed the Hair that i was haveing troubles with and they are in the Game now for the rest of the stuff,i know it is a lot of work but it works>

Hi Nuvemvioleta to me a must for extracting archive files is 7zip. It is an easy to use freeware program that recognizes all or nearly all archives. I have also used it to reduce sizes of my downloads with no problems. A good site to find free/share/payware is snapfiles.com. I have never had a problem with viruses or any sort of funny business from that site. If I was you, don't delete the archives or rearchives of your downloads, you never know when you may need them again.

In the future if you need to clear your cc out of a broken launcher do this:
In your documents-EA folder- Drag your sims 3 folder out of there onto your desktop.
Run your game, you don't need to save.
There should be a new sims 3 folder in the EA folder.
From your old sims 3 folder on the desktop copy the following into the new Sims 3 folder:
Saves
Screenshots
Recorded Videos
Downloads (if you keep your sims3packs in there)
SavedSims
Library
Mod folder (if you run packages)
userPresets.package
This should restore your old data. Don't delete your old folder unless your sure this helped
However all your option, lessons settings will be reset to default. If you go into a new neighbourhood it will be
running as a tutorial.
Just as a quick note your launcher saves to folder DCCache, but just deleting this folder doesn't always seem to work.
DCBackup if I remember properly is like a dump folder when the game is reading the data. You can clear this folder out.
Thumbnails, compositorCache.package, simCompositorCache.package can get quiet bloated and can be deleted without
problems.
Also be careful overloading your launcher with content. I don't know what causes the limit before you have problems. Your
computer power or the launcher itself.
If you want to double check me, you'll find the data either at sims3 wiki or at sims3 official forums.

I will try with another unzip,thank you
