I tried downloading today and it worked fine. I was able to download about eight items and the launcher did not freeze but it was very slow.

I have found that the launcher uses a lot of ram to get going. On my computer it has actually hit 100%, so I'm careful what I'm running when getting it started. I also have issues with installing and uninstalling it sometimes get stuck while doing these actions. I think it has to do with the power of your computer and the size of your installations. I find it best to do large sized sims3packs installations seperate because these takes the longer and more likely to get stuck. I also wonder if the more you install into the launcher the less stable it gets. Also with me the longer the launcher is messed with, the more likely something is going to go wrong.

Thanks for your info. I have done a bit investigating on my computer and it showed that my Anti-virus program, Kaspersky is part of the problem. It requires 4 G's of ram to operate. My computer has 8 G's which I thought was plenty. However, everything worked fine on the old TSR site. It is just since moving to the cloud that I have encountered this problem so something there must also be a factor in the problem. As far as the launcher goes, I keep getting a message that the launcher cannot connect to EA's Origin. In spite of that, the Launcher still downloads. I have put a question about that on The Sims 3 Forum but for some reason it was not answered and apparently it has been removed.
Today again I could only download one object. I do not download a lot of items so I don't think that is a problem. I will have to keep trying.

I think you should send a direct message to the TSR support staff. They did come back to me when I had problems with the forums. Here is the direct address:
http://www.thesimsre...ction/Downloads
Tell them the problem you have been having since the move to the cloud and mention the EA Origin problem as well. Be as detailed as possible so they can hopefully answer you without a whole lot of back and forth.
I don't have any experience with EA Origin or sims 3 forum site. But can't you look in your profile at your posts? They might have just moved the post. Sometimes these things can suddenly corrupt themselves can you uninstall EA Origin without to much hassle to your downloads or game?
I googled and found this forum, they are talking about virus software blocking access and other possilbe soloutions.

if you don't have any help with above google the exact error message you recieve, that has never failed me. Sorry I can't help any further than this.
