When I try to upload a SIM in order to start the publishing process, I am always getting a time out and the error message that the connection was taking too long.

What is the file size of this Sim? I am wondering if it may be too big for the submissions system to handle. What internet browser are you using when uploading?

That file size is within what the system can handle so we can rule that out. I did a test submission just in case to see if the system was working correctly. The Sim I tested with was 18 MB and it uploaded just fine. So we can rule out problems with the submissions system as that seems to be working fine.

What version of Firefox are you using? Also what is the file name? I just want to make sure it does not have any unique characters that the system cannot process.

I know I have the latest version of Firefox but not sure the exact number.
The name of the file is TerraBv2

The file name looks OK -- no unusual characters -- so we can rule that out too. The latest version of Firefox is 12. I am using Firefox 11. We have had a few reports of certain things on the site not working right with Firefox 12, but I haven't seen any uploading issues reported. It worked fine for me with Firefox 11.

Before we have you switching browsers though to test if this is a problem with Firefox 12, let's make sure the file is OK first. If you want to send me the file, I can take a look at it for you to make sure the file itself is not causing the problem. You can either upload the file to a file hosting site, like 4 shared, Media Fire, etc, then send me a Private Message with a link to that file. Then I can download it, look it over, and test it on my end. Or if you would rather I can send you a Private Message that includes my email address and you can get me the file that way. It's up to you. :)

Thank you for the file. I am stumped on this one. The file is fine -- there is nothing wrong there. I even did a test upload in Firefox 11 and it worked fine for me. Then I went ahead and upgraded my Firefox to 12 just like yours thinking maybe that was the issue, and once again the file uploaded just as it should. So there does not seem to be a problem with Firefox 12 either. There is something else on your end that is causing you to time out. Are you having any other internet connection issues at all? Are any other downloads or uploads timing out on you? Or is this only happening here at TSR?

No other timeouts on anything I am doing...I can try downloading IE and see if the problem replicates there.
I really appreciate your help!

I wouldn't necessarily recommend Internet Explorer. That browser is notorious for not wanting to get along with our site. ;) If you are planning to switch browsers to test that out, I would go for Google Chrome, Opera, or Safari.

I actually have had the same problem when trying to upload with Firefox. I have uploaded my past set and my next upcoming set both with Internet Explorer, and it seems to have worked just fine :)
