Hi!

All of a sudden I can't place floors without the screen turning blue. The laptop doesn't shut down or anything, I can still see the panel (or whatever that thing is called that shows wishes, what day it is, friends etc.) and I can click on things on the lot - but I can't see what I'm clicking on - everything is blue.

I've had this problem a few times before and whenever that happened I just went back to my most recent save and the problem was fixed. That doesn't seem to work anymore - I've restarted the game, my laptop, I've tried different lots, different type of floors, everything I can think off. I've tried googling as well but haven't found anything. Oh and I haven't installed anything new in days and I could place floors without a problem earlier today.

Anyone who knows how to fix this?

Can you please post a DxDiag of your laptop's specs? Since you have tried everything you can think of in the game and are stil having this problem, this could be related to the system you are playing the game on. The screen turning blue makes me think you may have some graphics compatibility issues going on here. Instructions for that and the information we need to see from it can be found here -- http://forums.thesim...i-post-in-here/

Can you also tell us where you have your graphics set at in the options screen of the game -- Higher settings, Medium settings, or Lower settings?

Hi!

It seems that my processor is only 1,8mhz, that might be the problem. The game has been running fine for over a year so checking the system requrements didnt even cross my mind.

HOWEVER, I seem to have fixed it now - thanks to you :) I lowered all the settings and that seem to do the trick so thank you for reminding me that you can do that :)

If turning the graphics down helped, then the processor is probably not the only facet of your system that is causing this to happen. I would venture to guess that the graphics package of your laptop may not be up to specs either (on-board graphics chip that is not meant to handle 3d graphics rather than a dedicated video card which is what you need to play Sims3, video drivers that are too old, if there is a dedicated video card it may be on the low-end of the spectrum so that it cannot handle higher graphics settings, etc). Without seeing the DxDiag though, that is just speculation on my part. ;)
