Is it possible to extract files from an already merged .package?

Hello, I'm writing here because after many, many time behind this I still couldn't find a way to solve my problem.

I'm a big fan of Hetalia, and I started to make my own mini-series with The Sims after finding online a bunch of CCs.
Of course I didn't download everything, since I didn't need everything, but while going on with the series I needed to download always more CC, until one day somehow every CC disappeared from internet.

I started looking around, asking to every person that could have downloaded the CC before to give me a copy of it, and this way I managed to regain almost every CC. I still miss something, and a person gave me two merged .packages since her computer couldn't stand the big amount of CCs.

In those merged .packages there was mainly material that I already have, so I need just a part of it.
Then, is it possible to extract the files that I need from the merged .package? If yes, how?

And, if not, then these are the files that I still need, plus the ones not included in the merged .package.

▸ INCLUDED in the merged .package:

Attached File  USA Jacket.jpg   70.19K   5 downloads USA's Jacket.

Attached File  Norway Cross and Kurun.jpg   92.35K   2 downloads Norway's Cross and Kurun; they should both come from the same package.

Attached File  UK Waiter Outfit.jpg   114.84K   3 downloads England's Waiter Outfit comes with a Top and Bottom part, two versions, one for a normal body, one for a fit body.

▸ NOT INCLUDED in the merged .package:

Attached File  White Flag.jpg   48.79K   3 downloads Italy's White Flag. Can't find it anywhere...

Attached File  Angel Stick.jpg   60.02K   1 downloads Britannia!Angel's Magic Wand. I can't find this either.

Attached File  Sealand Hair.jpg   67.92K   0 downloads Sealand's Hair. I found both the top and the bottom parts of his dress, but not the hair. I could find it through a .sims3pack, but I just need the hair. Is it possible to extract it from the .sims3pack?

For this last part, I suppose I'm in the wrong section, but anyway if you have this material or you know where I can still find it, please tell me, or just move the topic in the right section.

I'll wait for an answer, thank you so much!! ^^

P.S: The authors of these CCs were MokaSims and Tesi. Both sites has closed, but I'm sure their material is still around the net... please help me, or I can't go on with the videos :(

My understanding is that it may be possible but complicated. You are best to ask about this at MTS or MATY as this site does not use packages.

Packages can be extracted from packs with Delphy's Multi-Installer at MTS or just install the item and then check your dc backup to get the package(s).

First of all, thanks for replying. I've already asked on MTS but no one replied yet, and... I didn't know I could ask on MATY, too, thanks, I'll do it asap!!

Then... the .sims3pack I've installed is a complete sim. And how can I extract just the hair from the .sims3pack?

Use Deplhy's multi installer on the pack in a folder and see what you get. Also, you can install the pack in your game and see in the dc backup what packages are added, if any other than the sim itself.

Merged packages are just that. You would have to break out the resources per the individual items ..... which may be next to impossible unless you are extremely familiar with s3pe.

Done... and it extracted just one file, called 0x4a430d22c2cae68c434730f83407ff8a.package. I'm afraid I need to find someone who's extremely familiar with s3pe to help me with the extracting thing from the .packages... do you maybe know who or where can I ask, besides MATY?

MTS and MATY are the only places I have seen discussions about merged packages. And, the advice in threads about merging packages is that people need to keep copies of the individual packages as unmerging files is very difficult if next to impossible. Generally the whole point of merging is to combine a large number of packages, and so dividing the resources afterwards would be a nightmare.

I average at least 100-150 packages in my files that I merge.

Well, then I suppose this discussion should be edited and moved to the WCIF section, or at least something like that...
I'm gonna ask on MTS and MATY anyway, but if you're able to help me, then it'll be way more helpful!
So, please, moderators, can you move this thread into the right section? Thanks ♥
