The latest Expansion pack has been announced:

Introduction:

Enter the mysterious town of Moonlight Falls where strange things happen by the light of the moon. Create supernatural beings from menacing werewolves and cackling witches, to mischievous fairies and more intriguing vampires. Then stalk the night, use your wand to cast spells, claw the furniture and more. You can mix dozens of elixirs that can turn Sims into zombies or transform them into gold. Share your enchanted brews with any friends who have The Sims 3! Spooky surprises are in store for you in the world of The Sims 3 Supernatural!

Features:
  • Play as supernatural Sims: Create witches, wizards, werewolves, more intriguing vampires, and fairies, each with their own magical abilities, traits, and interactions.
  • Explore the town of Moonlight Falls: Discover what mysteries and abilities are revealed by the light of the full moon. Will your Sims freak out or become more powerful?
  • Hone your magical crafts and share the enchantment: Learn to cast spells and find rare ingredients to brew elixirs, so you can charm or hex your Sims’ lives. Send your magical elixirs to any of your friends’ games who have The Sims 3. Your Sims can hone their psychic abilities and build a career as mystic fortune teller.
  • Discover supernatural items: Race around the arena on your broomstick, visit the gypsy caravan, or preen in front of your magic mirror. Even awaken the classic character of Bonehilda, the quirky skeletal maid. With tons of new enchanted objects, what will happen next?
  • Deck out your home in gothic style: Add a secret lair with the sliding bookcase door and fill your home with creepy new furniture.
  • Zombification: Mix a special elixir to create shuffling, brain-hungry monsters of your very own. Chomp on other Sims to spread the love and wreak havoc. Don’t fret, you can always concoct an elixir to change your Sims back.

Mermaids would have been cool! At this point I will just be happy if our sims can swim in the sea like they did in 2. :)

I personally won't be getting this one. I haven't played any of the creatures so far with the exception I did play a vampire because they don't act as weird as they did in TS2. I just don't see a reason for them since other sims don't react to them in any way except a moodlet and the desire to be turned.

I am just curious about what they mean by "more intriguing vampires".

Really not interested in this at all. I'm one who likes to play as realistic to life as possible (well as realistic as the sims can be anyway) and not with all the magic stuff.

I'll be interested in this one only if it's a separate town. I want to be able to keep my "normal sims" in their "normal world" and then have my "supernatural sims" in their "supernatural world" and I'll be very happy if those worlds never cross.

Yes it comes with it's own new world and there are going to be built in controls on which creatures you want in your towns and their population limits, so you won't have to have them in all your worlds if you don't want to.

Awesome. Thanks for the info! Then I think this will be one that I'm going to purchase.

I'm definitely interested in this pack! It sounds like it will be a lot of fun for me. If I wanted to stick with realism, I would go outside and join the real world :P

I will be getting this because I get every expansion anyway.

I do like the idea of the fairies and wizards BUT I do not like the way the vampires have been made "more intriguing". I liked them the way they were! I saw the trailer for this and the new vampires look too menacing! I like friendly vampires. :D

Where are the aliens??? I think they should have recreated every supernatural creature from past Sims.

I hope the animation for the werewolves and the zombies is better than it was with TS2!!

The creepy Gothic style furniture sounds really cool! :)

:D I agree, Kris! The Sims aren't very realistic as it is!

I wonder what exactly is going to happen with the vampires. It sounds like they are just going to expand them? I don't have Late Night, so I don't have any vampires to make "more intriguing" I hope this pack will also add them for those of us who don't have them to start with!

Oh I never thought about what would happen if a person doesn't even have Late Night! I would think this expansion would add them.

Yeah I think the new vampire guy they have been showing looks mean, but I think that's probably just his traits and facial features, I doubt they would make all vampires menacing. Though I don't really know what they could do to make them "more intriguing" either. They were already different and had powers... we'll see.

And thank you for mentioning aliens!!!! They are one of the things I miss most from TS2! I always got a kick out of my boy simmies getting abducted and coming back preggo teehee. But if the rumors about the Seaons EP for TS3 is true, it's supposed to include aliens... all I have to say is it better... even if it doesn't make much sense.

And haha yeah zombies and werewolves in TS2 kinda sucked in my opinion, but from what I've seen so far I think these will be much better.
