I'm so sorry that I posted this in the wrong place last time, my apologies.

So when I download a sim, everything works and it's fine, i save it to downloads, and it's extracted. After that, I go in and double-click the simpack and that's where it goes wrong. I double click it and instead of the install thing popping up, the launcher does.

This is a screenshot of what happens: http://i46.tinypic.com/fjhrty.jpg

No one seems to know why it's doing this. Can someone please help?

Get Clean Installer from Mod the Sims and use that to install Sims2Pack files, it's far more reliable. From what you've posted, it looks like the computer has lost its association between the installer and the pack files.

I agree with Cadiva. It appears that sims2pack files have become associated with the launcher instead of the installer. Clean Installer should associate sims2pack files with itself. If it doesn't, you should be able to right-click on them, select "Open With...", then select Clean Installer. You could probably do that with the installer, but Clean Installer really is more reliable.

If you have Vista or later, you should already have a version of the .NET framework that Clean Installer can use, so no need to download one.
