OK, I know how to play the game without using the launcher but, I need to go into the launcher to install some hair! The launcher won't open, here are some things I've tried:

-checking to see if I have norton anit virus, I don't. All I have is Norton internet and that won't open and registry mechanic which has not blocked the sims.

-tried running it as administrator, nothing changed

I really don't want to uninstall because I''ve already done so much in the game! Is there a way to install the hair and nose ring I got without using the launcher or a way to fix the launcher? Please and thank you! If you post your question's link I'll try and answer back!

You won't be able to install .sims3pack files without the launcher. However, you may have multiple instances of the launcher running, and if you do, it won't open again. Check your task manager, and if you have any instances of TS3exe or TS3Launcher running, close them all down. Wait about two minutes, then try to open the launcher again.
Permanently Sunset -- closed.

Nope. All I have running is the internet. Anything else you can suggest?

Have you tried starting the game and then opening the launcher from inside it?

I know how to play the sims, I've played since the games first came out - anyone remember Sim Tower? - have a been a member on and off of TSR for about 4-5 yrs. I just re-bought Sims 3 and the Master Suite EP. Also, just renewed my subscription with TSR. I'm deeply unimpressed that it looks like THREE years later, EA has neglected to fix (permanently and easily) the launcher issue. So.........I cannot install my custom content - subscription dollars wasted. Also a waste of dollars on the game and expansion. I know about the different kinds of files, have tried the .rar issue, the crack issue, the .net issue, all the forums, all the suggestions, uninstalled, cleared registry and reinstalled the game. All wasted time. Nothing has worked and if you can give me a fix that dosn't require a computer science degree you will be my hero or heroine for this year!!! EA - If it isn't broke - don't fix it !!!!!!

Sincerley,
Frustrated and now POOR! :( :( :(
