Hi,

I have been creating paintings in TSRW for ages, and never have I came across this problem before. I'll give you the steps I always perform ...
  • Open up the template I created with a fake mount, with shadowing for realistic effect, and an alpha channel the template is made for the mesh I always use - "teen poster"
  • Place each image onto the template, save the texture as .dds and repeat this process for however many images I have
  • Open S3OC and clone the "teen poster" mesh.
  • Open TSRW and import my cloned mesh
  • Delete all existing variations except 1 and make empty.
  • I then choose the wood pattern I use for the frame
  • Duplicate the empty variation for the amount of Images I have
  • Click overlay, edit, import image, click no so it imports as a new texture. I repeat this step for however many I have.
  • Export as S3P & Edit project contents and export .package
I then test each file format separately so I know they are all working fine before I release them to the community. I just finished making my newest set of paintings and I went to test them - Unfortunately when I place the painting you can see the wood grain pattern over the image in the frame. When I select the solid color from the misc section the problem disappears; which is okay if they were just for me but my followers will probably want the option to use whichever pattern they like, I double checked the alpha --which is black, except for the area of the image which is white-- which is correct. I am really scratching my head as this has never happened to me before. I have included a screenshot of a particularly bad wood pattern so you have a visual reference of what I am trying to convey ~and probably failing miserably~

I don't know if you found a solution to your problem but it could be the UV map, to me it looks like the frame and image are sharing the same spot on the UV map, seperate them and see if that helps.

Test it with a black specular, see if its still there(black alpha channel also).
Im guessing its the setup multiplier/dxtinterpolatedealpha specular.
