i have read through tons of tutorials for how to change the bump map and read several forum posts about it, but i still can't figure it out.

I have tried making the overlay completely black, this only makes my figure all black and weird in the workshop, but doesn't change a thing in game.

I have also tried making the overlay empty, that didn't work either.

I have read about changing color channels and things like that but i don't understand what they mean...

I would LOVE it if anyone could lead me in the right direction with this! I really want to post this dress on TSR, but i can't until i change the bump map.

This picture is hard to see, but if you look you can see on the back something like corset ties on the back and on the front a ring that the straps come from, i can't figure out how to fix this! PLEASE HELP!

The Overlay has nothing to do with the Bump map aka Normal map, so changing that will not help this problem at all. The Overlay is just a piece of the texture that will not be recolorable in the game. In order to change the Normal Map, you have to look under the Mesh tab in Workshop. Have a read through our Sims3 Clothing tutorial for more information. That will tell you how to make a new Normal Map and how to use it in Workshop.
