i have a problem on my pc that prevents the use of the framework required for the package files. that prevents the use of mods completely. the content i get here works because it is installed through the launcher so if i could somehow install the mods through the launcher i would be able to use them.

There is a program that can convert package file to Sims3packs -- http://www.modthesim...ad.php?t=473766

However, it will not work for mods because the game launcher does not support mods. The only way to use mods would be in package format. Sorry.

i cant download from mod the sims because the corrupt moderators banned me.(they attacked most of my topics for no reason and banned me because i tried to alert the rest of the forum.) i do however have the sims 3 clothes that is in package format so at least it would enable me to use them. please provide a different link. besides, linking to other websites isnt how people should do things unless the the forum doesnt have enough space in the first place.

Huh? What do you mean that we shouldn't link to other websites? It is not good internet etiquette to just take someone else's work and put it on another site for download without getting the original person's permission first. That gets into copyright infringement and other legalities. That is why linking to the website that hosts the file is the acceptable way to do things, not just at this site but at any site on the internet. As that program is property of the person who created it, Sakura, and the MTS website that hosts the file, we cannot post it in another location for you. I am sorry to say but that is only available at Mod The Sims.

With Workshop you can start a new project "From Import" and import the .package file, and then simply export it again as a .Sims3Pack without changing anything. I have no idea how well the end .Sims3Pack result will work, but in theory it should be okay. :)

While that should work in theory for objects and clothing, it does not work well in practice. The textures and such do not always transfer correctly from the package file into the new Sims3pack. Plus depending on how and when the package file was made, Workshop may not even be able to open the file at all. That is why we tell people not to use Workshop as a conversion tool. Workshop is meant to be used as a creation tool to clone an item from the game and use it as a base for new creations, not a conversion tool to make package files into Sims3pack files. We cannot give support for that when the package file will not open or the conversion fails as that is not what the program is meant to be used for. And as always, mods are not able to be converted at all. Those must remain as package files.

I am sorry that you were banned from MTS. There is nothing we can do to help you with that. That is your problem to solve. MTS is the only site that has the conversion program for download, so there is nothing else we can do to help you with this. If you wish to create a new thread where you ask for help with getting the framework and the package files to work correctly for you on your computer, you are more than welcome to do that. But this thread is being closed because we are at an impasse -- the program that allows for conversion of package files to Sims3packs is on a site that you cannot download from because you were banned, and there is nowhere else to get that program.
