So i am trying to get the dds plug-in for gimp and i cant seem to figure it out

1. One download is telling me to download stuff from a site called mingw and its super confusing
2. One download has an exe file but it wont extract to my plug-in folder

help!

Have you tried here? http://code.google.c.../downloads/list The first file listed is the source code - you don't want that one. You want to download either the second or third one listed, depending on which kind of operating system you have. The 64-bit version is listed as the second download, and 32-bit is the third. If you do not know what kind of operating system you have, get the third download, the 32-bit. 32-bit will work on both 32/64-bit systems

This file comes as an .exe as you said in point number 2 above. According to the instructions that come with the download, you want to extract the file to "C:\Program Files\GIMP 2\lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins". If you can't extract it directly there for some reason, have you tried extracting it to your desktop and then manually moving it to that folder?

To handle textures with TSR Workshop, you actually don't need any complicated plug-in.
