Edit: It seems the tutorial on TSR has gone missing. Until it is restored, I have posted the original up on my site (since I wrote the tutorial to begin with). You can find it here: Using Downloads in The Sims for Mac
Also, it seems that the link to FarMaker/Unzipper in that tutorial is no longer current. Until I get a chance to update the tutorial, here is the current link to FarMaker/Unzipper: http://www.baumfamil.../dave/farmaker/

There are instructions all over the place telling you PC files work with Mac, but they don't for me without doing the above conversions.
My computer is controlled by Sims. Why do Sims do such silly things?

Simshow will not buyable skins till they have been re-named to start with b and has troble with files that have a letter in the 3-digit combo.(if the file is b3w7 or bj38 rather then b020)

Hi BB. It looks like they slightly moved the page for FarMaker since the link was put in the tutorial. Here's the current link: http://www.baumfamil.../dave/farmaker/ Hope that helps! :)

If they are objects, I would rename them with a .iff extension before you use Farmaker on them. And put them (the original files) into a folder and far that folder. Then the resulting .far file is what goes into the game. But, also, you don't far one file at a time, you should use Farmaker on a folder full of .iff files.
If you plan to download a lot, you might want to start to organize your DLs now, such as make a folder for all your bath items & put your baths items .iffs into that folder... and far that. Then you would have a file name baths.far, which is what you put in your game.
One last tip, don't use Farmaker on an already .far'd file. It doesn't work.
