i know that people have created wheelchairs, but i want sims to be able to move around in them. i don't just want it to be like a regular chair in that sims can only sit on it, but then they have to get up when they need to go somewhere! if someone is in a wheelchair, they should be able to wheel around in it, don't you think? also if possible, i would like someone to make ramps & handicapped parking signs. i would do this myself, but i'm no good with these kind of things :P thanks in advance if anyone could make any of these things or if anyone can point me in the direction of some already created ones!
ps: i have sims 2 deluxe with base game and nightlife, free time, bon voyage, open for business, seasons, glamour life stuff, h&m fashion stuff, kitchen & bath interior design stuff, and teen style stuff. Thank you thank you thank you!!!
animated wheelchairs please!

Well for the wheelchair to BEHAVE like one it would mean creating a whole new set of behavioral files (these tell the Sims what actions can be done while using it & how THEY should look while using it). I helped windkeeper only as far as showing an interest in a NEWER model wheelchair & finding her some images to base the SIM model from (she did the hard part but I WAS able to ask & give feedback) & when it was BEING CREATED she'd said that it would be VERY difficult to make the Sims "wheel" around as it takes a lot of movements the Sims do not usually do such as gripping the rims of the wheels......so alas....I think we're gonna be out of luck finding someone who is both willing & able to put in soooo much WORK for what may or may not be "popular".
As for handy things to have for "disabled Sims"; here at TSR BlackGarden FA made some ramps of the modular stairs & windkeeper another TSR-FA has 2 different styles of wheelchairs, CycloneSue yet another FA has some signs & if I'm not mistaken I think they'd be found in a mix of her urban signs + yet another FA tdylannd has a bathchair that although the Sims can't use it while showering....it does LOOK real. oh & then over @ ModTheSims you can find a hospital set by JohnBehaurt (I COULD be spelling that screen-name SLIGHTLY amiss) & you can find a number of signs I THINK that Rebeccah did SOME & there are some others.....I'll have to let you know exactly who when I re-figure it out myself. :P
I'm sure not everyone "gets it" but I kinda wish there was an OPTION of Sims with disabilities programed into the TS2 game....after all....they gave them just about everything else "real". I use a wheelchair as a part of everyday life & not that I like seeing other people disabled BUT on the other hand when I'm out & about I'm NOT the only one rolling through the shops or who brings THEIR OWN seat when dining out.

Hiedibear is correct - making a prop wheelchair is easy, it's just a re-mesh of a dining or living chair, and is able to use the existing context menuing and animations for such. Making a usable wheelchair on the other hand would be a gargantuanly complex task, and even at the height of TS2's popularity, one that very few creators would have had the skills to even consider taking on, much less succeeding in creating.
At minimum it would include creating a ton of new animations, and coding new BHAVs to call the animations intelligently, and figuring out how to attach the chair to the sim as an accessory so they can move around without leaving the chair behind. Then combining the BHAVs, animations, and meshes with context menuing to make the chair usable.
Now, if you only want it for screenshot purposes, then it should be possible to at least fake up some of it; you'd need to find a pose box creator who takes requests (or learn how to create them yourself), and make a set of wheelchair-use poses, like several different hands-pushing-wheel-rims postures and sitting-quietly and sitting-talking and possibly some transfer positions (bed-to-chair, chair-to-bed, etc.) and helper poses (pushing chair, helping with transfers, etc.), plus any special-use poses you want (wheelchair basketball, anyone?). Then just position the chair and sim as needed for the shots you want, with the help of the posebox.

MsBarrows.....you're going to make me DROOL! :Oo: I'm currently working on recreating my story from waaaay back (Matt & Jenny)and poses like that would make things sooo much easier.  I've shown him on the ground but I had them hug to make it LOOK as though he were getting some help. Showing him pushing himself & I could make it LOOK like HE is popping a wheelie with an angled OMSpackage I've got. :D And NO WAY.....I haven't even gotten recolors down.....no way could I attempt something of this magnitude. :o

Well, I know Screaming_Mustard makes pose boxes, and someone mentioned to me that she takes requests, so you could always ask and see if she's willing to tackle the project. :)
