I have had those results too. It seems that the less that I have to alter something the better the quality.

The smaller pictures I use(say 400x300), if they are good quality and I resize them work better. Is that normal?
Hi, Daisylee is right about the less you have to alter the image the better the quality in my experience too, but if you do need to make something smaller as in the tutorial flatten the layers and then sharpen. After you sharpen try going to edit/fade to about 50% that will help a bit.

In the long run try to find images that are a bit smaller so you don't have to re-size to much.

I'm pretty sure this is a game thing. Just like sometimes with some patterns I get a colors that mush into each other and that has been proven to be a game problem.

Hope this helps you

Thank you both! I thought I was just going crazy..........well, maybe I am anyway LOL! I will try what you suggested, Robin, just to see if that works. I think I will try to stick to smaller images from now on, though
