I bought The Sims game when it first came out, but had not played it yet, nor did I know anything about the game.
(I just knew it wasn't 'Quake'. With Quake I would wake to someone in the house yelling 'kill em daddy, kill em!) I did a search on the Internet to see what I had bought. I found TSR. I thought TSR was The Sims site. What else could explain that there were already things on the site to download, yet the game had just been released. I downloaded them all, and that was the start of my Sims downloading addiction. The next day, I woke to someone in my house yelling "the house is on fire and theres a man in the hot tub!" Needless to say I sat straight up in bed. From that day forward I began reading the TSR forums daily like a newspaper The first person I talked to was Girl-from-mars, TSR Submissions Manager I started submitting Skins to TSR, but would always mess up the submissions process. Her response was always kind words and a smilie face in email reply. I've only met Tug . . . least she is all I remember meeting |

I played the original sims and got Hot Date and Making Magic and that was all. Didn't even know there was such a thing as TSR at the time. Then got into sims 2 and I think I must have been having issued so I did a search and lo and behold, what did I find? I registered then and there and haven't really ventured very far from here since. I have spoken to a few people over the years (not on the phone or in person or anything) but I got a lot of help from Lechapeau, Ms Barrows, Deagh, Cadiva, CycloneSue and Darth Joules, just to name a few.

Well, I googled for sim mods, not very poetic <_< first I found mts but I didn't like it much at all, then I found TSR and I loved it, the design, the file browser all worked smoothly.
It wasnt untill recently I started getting involved with the community, I felt I been registered so long its about time to use my account other then downloading ^_^ What is poetic though is I think everyone around here is really nice and helpful and the wierd thing is I am finding lots of people with the same last name as me lol I want to give back to the community as well, I am good with milkshape but I cant stop playing, sims is just so fun lol |

I found TSR not long after I got TS2 for Christmas in 2004. I was amazed, because I'd played the first Sims for years without ever realizing that there was an online community. TSR has really enhanced my simming enjoyment over the past (almost) five years

I came to TSR because I had a serious obsession with The Sims game when it first came out. I met so many wonderful friends here but haven't met anyone in person.

My first visit here was in 1990-something when I HAD to have some military uniforms (and that meant subscribing so I then went on a huge download-fest for Sims 1 stuff). Then I disappeared. I wasn't 'Cyclonesue' then - but I couldn't remember either my username or the email I'd used, so had to create a new account in 2004 for Sims 2.
I started out by uploading lots at another site and came here only to see whether I could find help. I can't remember what about exactly but it had MissyZ and I hunting high and low for no purpose whatsoever (typical Cyclonesue-venture)! Other people joined in too and after that, I realised how people at TSR went to extreme degrees to help one another. So I uploaded a new lot here and then spent a week crowing to my family about the fact it was accepted. I'm STILL here despite TSR's best efforts to be rid of me - much, much friendlier and a whole lot more fun than my first home was at that time. I have 'met' so many wonderful, WONDERFUL people here at TSR online (and a tiny few outside of TSR too), though my earliest memories would be Pinecat who I admired simply because she always had something nice to say about everyone's work and encouraged beginners to find courage to build more and build better. I would love to be like that too, but I'm simply too rude and there's nothing I can do about it. And meeting people 'for real'? I never, EVER do that. I've received two invites to EA now and have declined both for that reason. But, I HAVE met Tug! And she's a wonderful, wonderful person! |

According to the official birthday...I'm coming up on my first year birthday Sept 28th with TSR although I was downloading items under my daughter's handle for a year before that. I've actually been with TSR for almost two full years.
Why I joined? I did what my daughters (teddy_bear719 & Cat77) told me to do when getting excellent sims2 items. Of course, they are to blame for my addiction to sims. They bought me my first sims2 game...sims2 deluxe after a surgery and wasn't moving around too well. I started playing around with the building modes and challenges. I never thought to actually upload any of them until last year, hence the year delay in officially joining. Other than family, I knew no one in TSR until then. There was and is a long delay in challenges. Being bored I browsed the forum especially the builders and challenge sections. I found a whole new set of fellow sims addicts and much useful information available here. Quite a few I count as friends. Not only do we share sims, but real life adventures too. People like Moza, Crass, Selina, Elut, Mirrajj, Hiedi and so many others keep me loyal to TSR. It will always be my first search or upload option. Grandmajam

I know this may sound really soppy, but when i bought my MAC and was having some major problems with TS2, i posted on this forum and the people were so nice and they helped me through all the way (and read to my numerous posts) and finally the problem was fixed and i got my sims back!!! I was so happy and it was thanks to all the members.
Also, i notice that everyone here is really nice, there are no trolls. Everyone is accommodating and asks of everyone else and is happy to help out other people when they need help. What a fantastic community!!

I remember when TSR was like... all black and blue, and the downloads were like in sorta a grid form.
My mum and I use to sit there for hours (Dial up!) looking at new sims and stuff. Thats all I really remember about TSR... my god. I've been with you guys since the start. YAY ME! |

I've become an avid user of TSR over the past two years after returning to sims. The Sims 2 just amazed me from the start, and of course, the rejuvenator was my first download. Oftentimes I'll leave comments on even floors or walls if they are just what I needed, but I try to leave comments that are helpful and go beyond the usual "Thanks for sharing" type, and I even get responses from the artists afterwards...how cool is that? I've subscribed several times and I have over 7,000 downloads, most of which are TSR, but also from MTS2, Sim Design Avenue, Around the Sims 2, Sims in Paris, and Holy Simoly. I can be quite picky about what is downloaded, and there is some amazing content here and at other sites, so much that the community is just as amazing as the game itself. My favorite download? Now, that is a tough choice. Have I might anyone? Nah, just keeping up with people here once in a while is just what I need sometimes. I've spoken off and on with Renate (KCR) and Judi. I had directed Renate to an art deco dealer, and she came up with a replica set that I had looked at one morning, to find it here at TSR the same day!
. I remember I posted my Evanston lot, and Judi had just driven through Evanston before seeing my upload. So, there is just so much offered at this site, and it's so forward thinking that it really is a good thing. My first impression from some uploads from the general mod community was that the people were crude, but it isn't like that here at all. |

I got the Sims 3 in July. I own the Sims 2 for the PS2. My friend just told me about this website just about a month ago. It actualy turned out to be she was a member here too! I was DYING for some new stuff for the Sims 3. I was so tired from the Sims 3 site. This place is actually alot faster to downlad stuff onto the game!!
