How do you make walls and floors in the sims 3?I need someone to help me out, I've been dying to learn. If anyone knows, or can point me in the direction of a great tutorial I would be much appreciative.

From what I know of the game the only way to make walls and floors is by creating patterns to re-color what is already in the game.

No, I'm not talking about making a pattern. I've seen how people make walls and floors brand new, and they are not patterns, but appear in the wall and floor catalog. That's what I'm trying to do.

I've checked with some other creators here at TSR and as far as we know there isn't a tool out yet that can create new walls and floors. What you might be seeing are those of existing walls and floors from the game and then saved.
I've done this and they do show up in the wall and floor category. My Creations

It is possible to do what I was suggesting, it requires s3oc and s3pe. For information on how to do it see This thread on modthesims

If you create a wall (or floor) with your pattern, using an in-game template, then save it as a wall you can export it as a sims3pack. Could this be what you're seeing?

Nope! brand new walls and floors NOT patterns. Found in the wall and floor category. I've already been busy making some you can see my work on sapphiresims2.com and modthesims.info. I would share here, but TSR doesn't allow sims 3 walls and floors yet.

Not sure really what exactly you're driving at with your last couple of posts. If you've made some walls/floors that are Sims3Packages then that's great, perhaps you could provide some screenshots. If they're .package files, then as Vanilla Sim has said, it's unlikely lot builders are going to want to use them when they fail to package correctly.

Well they are .package files. Who says floors HAVE to be for lot builders only? I know before I learned how to create custom content floors were my favorite things to download for sims 2.
Although I'm sure someone will find a way to convert .package files into sims3pack files. |
